We recently connected with Eduardo Baldo and have shared our conversation below.
Eduardo , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
Every project that I got involved with was meaningful. I always give my best to each and every opportunity given to me. But some projects end up standing out more than others, and I believe my current band is one of those.
This band is called Red Devil Vortex, and we just released our first full length album (self titled). It’s a very special material, that summarize 2 years of work. The band had a rough time dealing with a lineup change and some personal losses, but overcame the difficulties and this is the result.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I was born in 1984, in Porto Alegre, the capital city of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, in Brazil. I spent my whole childhood and teenager years listening to a lot of music, from Prince to Black Sabbath, even though I didn’t play any instruments or had any musicians in the family. When I was around 16 years old, I started to work as a roadie for some bands and had the opportunity to see a drummer playing right in front of me. It was a life changing moment for me. In 2001, the opportunity to join a band came and, even though I didn’t have a clue about how to play the drums, I jumped in.
Somehow, I got the gig and began my journey as a drummer. I was absolutely dedicated to improving my skills, using every resource and information available at the time. Lots of drum lessons on VHS. Great times!
In 2005 I joined a band called Hibria, and with them I released six studio albums, one live album/DVD recorded in Tokyo and a few tours around the world. Some shows that I think are worth mentioning were when we opened for Metallica in my hometown and when we played at Rock In Rio, which is one of the biggest music festivals in the world.
Jumping to 2017, I moved to Los Angeles, to study at the Musicians Institute. Two days after I graduated in 2018, I received a call from Glenn Hughes’s management. They needed a drummer for his upcoming tour in the US. Glenn is a legendary singer, bass player and songwriter, that established his name as part of the band Deep Purple. It’s a bit hard to describe with words how I felt.
I also had the opportunity to work as a session drummer for a small studio in Burbank, where I met a lot of really cool artists and learned a lot about the industry.
In 2021 I joined the band Red Devil Vortex, and we just released our first studio album, self titled “Red Devil Vortex”. I’m really proud of the quality of this material and I highly recommend the people reading this to check us out on all platforms, especially on YouTube. We have some really cool music videos, which are all produced by ourselves.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being a musician is the ability to bring new ideas and perspectives to life. There’s something truly magical about taking a vague concept or feeling and translating it into a tangible work that resonates with others. Seeing how my creations can evoke emotions, spark conversations, and inspire others is incredibly fulfilling. It’s a privilege to be able to share my vision and connect with people on a deeper level through my art. The creative process itself is also incredibly rewarding – the experimentation, exploration, and discovery that comes with bringing a new idea to life, and then performing those songs live, in front of people, is a thrill that never gets old!
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
As a member of Red Devil Vortex, my goal is to craft music and live performances that resonates deeply, becoming a meaningful companion to others. We aim to create songs that provide comfort, inspiration, and connection, weaving our band’s unique sound into the fabric of people’s lives and leaving a lasting, harmonious imprint on their hearts and minds.
