We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Edna Cecilia Castro a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Edna Cecilia, thanks for joining us today. Let’s start with a story that highlights an important way in which your brand diverges from the industry standard.
I created Sip It to offer anyone the opportunity to host a memorable & high quality beverage experience. I wanted to offer a craft cocktail in a unique setting at any event. I am passionate about cocktails & experiences and found that any private event I would go to will only have a bar offering very basic options… or when looking into options to host an event there was nothing that would offer what I was ambitioning, nothing unique, special or memorable. We have that at Sip it!
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I have been working in the liquor & wine industry for over 10 years. As soon as I started in the industry I became passionate about beverage experiences, events and creating memorable experiences when showcasing brands. I love partnering up with restaurants & bars and creating events to showcase brands but found that there were not may options out there when looking for vendors to help create a fun beverage experience for guests so I decided to create Sip It. We offer unique displays, personalized beverage experiences & creative branding with craft quality cocktails.
We have drink walls that decorate any space, carts that can be set up to host a cocktail hour in any space, as well as a foam printer that turns almost any cocktail into canvas for any design or photo
We also have zero proof experiences for those wanting to have the experience with out liquor involved.
We are perfect for weddings, birthday parties, corporate events, brand tastings, quinceaneras, brunch parties & more.
We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
I lost my job suddenly after the brand I was working for had to cup personnel. I had never experience anything like that so I was in shock, but also very motivated to engage in the business plan I had put aside for a long time. I started getting my notes and plans ready and looking into how big of an investment I could start. My little brother was in town and I was telling him all my ideas and struggles as far as coming up with the capital. I had 3 things I wanted to invest right away to start the business and after hearing me and asking may details on what exactly I needed he just said “I can build them” just pay for the materials. Just like that, we got started that week.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Always, engaging with everyone in a positive way to make it a memorable experience, focusing on all little details and always using only quality ingredients
