We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Edlin Mendivil. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Edlin below.
Edlin, appreciate you joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I battled with insecurities growing up an makeup has giving me a boost in my confidence, even though I now love being in my own natural self when I do my hair and makeup I feel empowered, helping other woman feel the same way is my purpose, when I give them the mirror and the end and see their reaction is so special to me and that I can have a part in making them feel their most beautiful and confident self is priceless.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
Hi my name is Edlin, I am a profesional makeup artist specialized in bridal but I’ve done a little bit of everything, commercial, headshots, photoshoots and more. My mom an sister are both in the beauty industry and I started loving it at a young age, I would read their books and play with their kits.
Growing up I was artistic, I loved drawing, coloring and painting.
I started playing with my own makeup when I was around 18 and little by little I started doing family and friends makeup but didn’t take it seriously until 2016 when I went to school for hair and makeup and fell in love event more.
When I first moved to Utah, I did not do makeup for a while, I started do to it for people I knew like family and then I started collaborating with models and photographers just for fun and everything went from there, from word of mouth to Instagram.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Delivering quality and good costumer service. Also believing in my self and taking what I do seriously so other can to.
How did you build your audience on social media?
What has helped is really making sure my posts are pleasing to the eye, with not a lot distractions, also showing your personality helps specially with reels and stories. My advice would be to always be yourself and be patient, is better to have a small following but real than having a million that are not there for the right reason.
