We recently connected with Edgar Sermeno and have shared our conversation below.
Edgar, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Coming up with the idea is so exciting, but then comes the hard part – executing. Too often the media ignores the execution part and goes from idea to success, skipping over the nitty, gritty details of executing in the early days. We think that’s a disservice both to the entrepreneurs who built something amazing as well as the public who isn’t getting a realistic picture of what it takes to succeed. So, we’d really appreciate if you could open up about your execution story – how did you go from idea to execution?
Manifesting and speaking out loud will hold you accountable. I saw the warehouse 5 years ago and right of the back I knew there was potential here. I started the vision and it didn’t take long to know what I wanted.
Fast forward we acquired the warehouse and the vision that I had was going to become a reality. Everything that I had in mind was not going hold back. There were plenty of long days and nights. We had a deadline to meet. We surprised a lot of people because when the date was given they thought it was impossible for it to get finished especially because of the size fog the building..
From the point that the street artist covered the walls with art, the lobby being worked, restroom remodeled and picking up equipment and custom desk built by Brian Kamke (Thank You). The gym was completed in 3 weeks.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I started in 2015. I always tell myself I wish I could find a job that would pay me for being me and my personality. I stumbled into fitness as I was learning how to workout and got better. I would talk to people and help them on their form. That’s when I knew what I wanted to do. Best of both worlds working out and talking to people.
The only craft that I have is just to be real. I keep it real, fun, enjoyable while you are at Believe. We want you to have the best experience while you are here. We wanted it to be memorable to the point you talk about it as soon as you get in the car.
Believe is a “Vibe” it’s “Home”. A place where you feel safe, a place where you are a part of and your not just a number.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Despite what life throws at you. I don’t stay down. You keep fighting until the end.
Through this roller coaster journey it’s never smooth sailing. There will be a lot bumps on the roads. But those situations will make you want to achieve your goals even more. So utilize those bad moments.
I will not stay down.
We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
