We were lucky to catch up with Edgar Quiroz recently and have shared our conversation below.
Edgar, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
Taking a risk is how you become successful!
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Hey, my name is Edgar “EQ” Quiroz an entrepernuer out of Western Colorado. I was born in Mexico and was Brough to the US at a very young age. After discovering my love for music I knew I wanted to create music and provide a way to bring people together. I started my record label La Familia Music Group when I was 18 and since i have opened up a recording studio. This is also where we teach under served youth about music and provide a healthy outlet. We also have a podcast where we promote artist, entrepreneurs and small businesses in the area. Also, we manage different recording artist and have gotten them booked at venues like Meow Wolf Denver, Lowrider Magazine Show and have even opened up for a handful of major artists. When people need to throw an event but don’t know where to start, they reach out to us and we can structure an event small to large depending on the budget. We try to bring new ideas to life through music, events or anything that bring people together. La Familia Music Group is more than music, its a movement!
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Yes, im on a mission to give back to as many people as possible through music. We have a music production academy that teaches youth about creating music from scratch to graphic design and event the business side of things! Our mission is to provide a free space for youth to come and create music and be in a safe, creative environment. A multi media space to not only create music but also learn about videography, graphic design, live sound and more!
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
One of the most rewarding aspects of being an artist is inspiring others to pursue their dreams. Bringing a smile to peoples faces and knowing im bringing happiness to their life.
