Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Eddrick Davis. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Eddrick, thanks for joining us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?

Going back to my freshman year of college, I always wanted to pursue a creative/ artistic path professionally. I came from a family that use to make home videos with old camcorders and document every single little thing. This was before vlogs were a thing. So, being both behind and in front of a lens has always been embedded in me and always been “my thing”. I go based off of the motto “If you look good, you’ll feel good!” The clothing / fashion aspect of my life has been a part of the journey as well. I always loved the aspect of looking my best and getting dressed allowed me to enhance all parts of me.

Eddrick, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

My name is Eddrick Davis and I am a social media influencer/ content creator! I am an Alabama native and graduate of Troy University where I obtain my bachelors in Global Business-Information Systems. I am a proud member of the oldest and coldest fraternity known to all mankind, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Even though IT is the corporate industry I’ve chosen, traveling and creating content is my passion! I have recently partnered with brands such as: Vibeszn, EXPRESS, Psycho Bunny, The Gasper Company just to name a few. Along with being a Style Editor for Express, I also have a feature with Shein on their official instagram profile. The story behind my mission all started naturally when I was just a “youngin'”. With being inspired by at home videos, traveling and creating content to make long lasting memories has always been significant to me.

My mission is to always stay consistent with reaching greater heights. A person knows their own potential better than anyone else. As a content creator/ influencer, it can be difficult at times to maintain the consistency of branding yourself. And I always want to encourage my supporters; whatever gives you the urge to go after your dream, DO IT! Don’t hesitate! What makes sense to you doesn’t have to make sense to everyone else. Also to just be themselves and not to allow anyone or anything, including social media, alter your authenticity. People tend to gravitate towards what is real. One of the things that I am most proud of is actually being patient, trusting the process, and never allowing anyone to alter my vision. I plan to continue to live out my mission and be a positive influence to those seeking interest in this industry.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?

The most rewarding aspect of being an artist or creative is having a great support system that will genuinely support you. Even if it results to them putting their own different opinions to the side.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?

One thing I had to unlearn is to go with your gut and don’t hesitate. I am an extreme perfectionist and very hypercritical of myself. I use to always be in my head about things like “What if my followers don’t like this?”, “What if they think I’m doing the most?”, but I had to realize, I can’t allow others thoughts an opinions dictate my ambitions. I am a great starter and believe in always ending the creations I began.
