Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Eddie Zamora. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Eddie, thanks for joining us today. Earning a full time living from one’s creative career can be incredibly difficult. Have you been able to do so and if so, can you share some of the key parts of your journey and any important advice or lessons that might help creatives who haven’t been able to yet?
I have been able to earn a full-time living from my creative work, but it wasn’t like that from day one. Here’s a walkthrough of my journey and how I made it happen:
1. **Starting Out**: Initially, I pursued my passion for food and travel by creating content online. This began as a side project while I worked other jobs to support myself. I started building my brand, The Yum Yum Foodie, by consistently posting high-quality content and engaging with my audience on social media platforms.
2. **Building a Portfolio**: I focused on creating a strong portfolio of work that showcased my unique voice and perspective. This included blog posts, social media content, and collaborations with other influencers and brands.
3. **Networking**: Networking played a crucial role in my journey. I attended industry events, connected with other content creators, and built relationships with brands and PR agencies. These connections opened up opportunities for partnerships and sponsorships.
4. **Monetization**: I started monetizing my content through sponsored posts, brand collaborations, and affiliate marketing. Over time, I diversified my income streams by exploring other avenues such as hosting events and creating branded merchandise.
5. **Podcast Launch**: Launching the Kill The Bottle Podcast was a significant milestone. It allowed me to expand my reach, engage with my audience in a new way, and attract more sponsorship opportunities.
6. **Consistency and Adaptation**: Consistency was key throughout my journey. I regularly posted content, adapted to new trends, and refined my strategies based on feedback and analytics.
**Major Steps and Milestones**:
– Building a strong online presence and brand.
– Developing a diverse portfolio of content.
– Networking and establishing industry connections.
– Monetizing through various channels.
– Launching and growing the podcast.
**Could I Have Sped Up the Process?**:
Knowing what I know now, I believe I could have sped up the process by:
– Focusing on niche markets earlier to stand out.
– Investing in professional development and learning more about digital marketing and SEO.
– Leveraging data and analytics sooner to optimize content strategy.
– Seeking mentorship from successful content creators in the industry.
Overall, it took time, effort, and a willingness to learn and adapt, but the journey has been incredibly rewarding.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I got into the industry as a trained actor and TV Host who loves food and travel. It was a natural fit when I started creating content about my passion. I provide my clients and my audience with an honest and unabashed voice in the industry
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My goal was to be authentic to my voice. I always used the motto of “If you build it they will come.”
Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
I wish I would have created more content on youtube esrlier in my csreer and atayed consistent with it.
