We were lucky to catch up with Eddie Sandoval recently and have shared our conversation below.
Eddie, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. I’m sure there have been days where the challenges of being an artist or creative force you to think about what it would be like to just have a regular job. When’s the last time you felt that way? Did you have any insights from the experience?
I am happier than ever getting to express my self and having a following/clientele that trusts my visions. Although there is nothing wrong with a “regular” job/career I feel extremely lucky and blessed to be able to make a living off of my talent and passion to create wearable art
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I began my journey in the first few months of covid, doing my bestfriends’ nails as a hobby in an empty room in my house. I am a self taught Acrylic / Gel-x Nail artist that specializes in creative/editorial looks. I am most proud of how I turned my creativeness into a business from the ground up and everything feels organic and empowering because I really put in so many sleepless nights/ early mornings, tears and stress into building my brand. I want my potential followers/clients/fans to know that my space is an inclusive safe space where we can just bring any idea/vision/mood to life and I really try to push boundaries and raise the bar to create art that is one of one and unique to itself. This is so much more to me then just “nails “.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
the most rewarding part about being a creative in the industry is getting to see final pieces of art that I get to see so beautifully photographed and worn and appreciated by so many
How did you build your audience on social media?
although still a work in progress I have built my audience by spamming all my followers with new content daily, I think its very cliche to say ” post evrything even if you don’t think its up to par” but it really is true, so many times I have felt unsure or insecure about posting some work/content that I felt wasn’t “amazing” and it turned out to be one of the most popular post I published that brought in a lot of buzz.
