We recently connected with Eddie Oppong and have shared our conversation below.
Eddie, appreciate you joining us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
The most meaningful project in my current portfolio of work would have to be KIDNEY WARRIORS. I allowed myself to become extremely vulnerable in telling my health journey story. Allowing the world into my personal battle with Kidney Disease since birth, and my current moments being on dialysis for the last decade. This project was not completely about me, but every KIDNEY WARRIOR out there near and far. I just wanted to let the story be told through my personal experience, and hopefully encourage others to find the same strength. Lastly, it was it help inspire many people who have closed friends and family dealing with something similar to possibly consider being a living donor, and give their loved one a better chance at living a healthy life.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am a Creative Director, Sneaker Designer, and Creative Writer. I oversee projects for myself, my brand Ye Wo Krom, and a few clients. Creative direction allows me to articulate myself in challenging ways whenever an idea is brought to me. It’s never about what I see, but what I can create from the foundation that is brought to me. As a sneaker designer, I tell stories through the capsule collections I design. Always making sure there’s a reasoning behind my design work, and what inspired it’s existence. Creative writing is my first and true love, and you much of it through everything I do and how I express myself.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
The mission is to truly create timeless art, that transcends through life. I want to continue to push the envelope of our minds, and how we find an associate with what we read, see, wear, and even listen too.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
To be very frank I always pay huge respects to these individuals because they helped shape who I became, and an continuing to grow into becoming. Please help me thank these amazing people in my circle, De$, Matt, Robert, Mike Abrantie, Rello, Joe, Vic, Denis, and Jeremy Osei. These creatives have been instrumental in my every move. Thank you so much!
