We were lucky to catch up with Echo recently and have shared our conversation below.
Echo, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
I was always good at drawing as a child and when I fell in love with comic books as a teen while attending LaGuardia HS of the Performing Arts, I started leaning towards becoming a comic book illustrator or graphic designer. Once I discovered hip-hop and started bumping rap music 24-7 I began learning my favorite artists’ lyrics, and then started to write my own raps.

Echo, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
After leaving school I started hustling in the streets while also working in corporate America and this all led to me finding a studio so I can record my music. I started investing money into booking my studio sessions, my friends saw me constantly going to these sessions and soon after they wanted to get involved.
We all started going to the studio as a rap group and this helped me hone my skills as a writer and teacher in helping them to write and recite their own lyrics while also navigating how to be a professional artist in this industry.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Throughout my teens and 20’s I became heavily involved in protesting, critical thinking and studying the esoteric. I had several “awakenings” that led me down rabbit holes about society, history, and my own identity.
All of this information has fueled my drive to develop a large fanbase/following/tribe that I could share all of this knowledge with, in the hopes that it can somehow shift the Noosphere, and our future as a civilized advanced civilization.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
One of the most rewarding aspects of being artistic is the ability I have to express my innermost thoughts in a profound way that can be digestible for the masses. There’s a deep desire we have as humans to connect or cooperate with each other, despite the competitive-based lifestyle the mass media pushes, so any connection I get to have with others is a blessing and a validation that makes me feel alive.
