Alright, Easy Breezie thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. If you had a defining moment that you feel really changed the trajectory of your career, we’d love to hear the story and details.

Pivotal, defining moments happen periodically in the life of a full-time entrepreneur. Because your income and your entire livelihood depends on YOUR own vision, determination, discipline and education, you may experience tests and trials on your journey.
For me, personally, one of the most trying times of my career came when I decided to start taking appointments again after a long 5-year hiatus. For those 5 years, I was a Full-Time Content Creator on YouTube and I wouldn’t take a client even if someone begged to put the money in my hand. I was burnt out, energetically. I didn’t want to deal with clients, I didn’t want my schedule to be predicated on someone else’s needs and I was so tired of hiring and firing employees. I need a 5-year break of just ME, my own healing and re-direction.
Although those years were absolutely necessary for my growth, 5 years is more than enough time to lose your entire clientele.. over 600 clients to be exact! Starting over meant that I had to get GO of my pride and maneuver like a hustler all over again. I have to go back to the BASICS, something I never thought I would have to experience again: Promoting my services online every single day, coming up with new and innovative marketing tactics to generate new clientele and Working according to an actual SCHEDULE.
I’ve become so used to my “do whatever I want, whenever I want” lifestyle, that it was extremely hard for me to adjust back to a lifestyle of Appointments, Deadlines, Schedules and waking up early for a hair appointment. It was so hard that at some moments, I would let myself fall into a financial pit and soak in stagnation for weeks. It seemed like I just couldn’t get my life and business back in order!!!
Until one day, I woke up and decided that I was going to do whatever I needed to do to get my Salon Services back in motion and generating income. I forced myself to work. I forced myself to record every client. I forced myself to post and promote every day. I forced myself to expand my knowledge and learn NEW and updated marketing techniques. After a whole year, I forced my way BACK into the Salon industry and I promised myself I was never going to throw away any of my talents ever again.

Hello! My name is Zakiya Simmonds, better known as Easy Breezie! I am the Founder and Owner of GALAXI GIRL and I am a Business Coach for entrepreneurs in the Beauty Industry! My coaching company, GALAXI GIRL UNIVERSITY, teaches people how to grow their brand, expand their amount of incomes and how to earn more money through closing beauty deals and sponsorships!
I teach girls how to align their content with their highest vision of themselves and their brand. Sometimes, we get so caught up on how someone else is creating, running their business or looks online, that we don’t even realize we are becoming more unaligned with our own original vision and passion.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

I don’t have a super long, extensive story that explains my resilience. To keep it quite brief, I’ve been doing hair since I was a child, began making money from hair in high school, enrolled in cosmetology school in 2013, and earned my master cosmetology license in 2015. I’ve taught and hosted over 15 live business seminars, taught in five different states, accumulated over 50 million views on YouTube, and have personally taught and trained over 50 hairstylists. GALAXI GIRL is a high 6-Figure earning company and I’ve earned over 6-Figures from YouTube alone. Now, I dedicate my life to teaching others and creating other success stories.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?

The most effective strategy for growing my clientele has always been quality content. Content is art. Content is expression. Content is information. Content is the line of COMMUNICATION between your business and potential clients/customers. I am very passionate about creating engaging and visually pleasing content. Making videos for my company feels like a never-ending art project to me. Speaking to my following through my voiceovers brings me a sense of community and the platform I desire to teach what I know.
