We caught up with the brilliant and insightful E Rock a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
E , appreciate you joining us today. How did you learn to do what you do? Knowing what you know now, what could you have done to speed up your learning process? What skills do you think were most essential? What obstacles stood in the way of learning more?
It took many years for me to learn to do what I do. I have worked with numerous music producers and recording artists over the years and through those experiences I developed my own creative skills.
Knowing what I know now I could have sped up the learning process by paying attention to every aspect of the music industry including producing music and artist management as well as paying more attention to the business side of the music industry.
Learning the recording process from beginning to end was very essential for me to do what I love to do today.
Developing people skills and learning to have a better perspective of how I want to be represented and what I stand for was a very important skill set to acquire.
Growing up in a very volatile environment as a youth was a big obstacle in self developing mentally and slowed the process of me discovering who I was and who I choose to be.
Growing up in a more stable environment is always better to allow someone to develop the skills that they may use for the rest of their life.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
For me the most rewarding aspect of being a creative is the freedom to express yourself no matter what you may be going through.
By doing so you may inspire or help others dealing with the same situation.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My current mission as a creative is to empower young artists and to lead by example to show that if you work hard enough you can accomplish all of your dreams and more.
No matter your age or ethnicity you can be great.
