Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to E.g. Seven. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
E.G., looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
The most meaningful project I’ve worked on thus far is my first full book “Stardust Pilgrimage”. I thought of the premise while awaiting my son’s birth in the hospital. The connection is a father son space fantasy. The son is curious and the father is a retired warrior (being an army veteran). I would say that is very much our dynamic. I finished and self-published the book earlier this year and I await the day my son is old enough to read it. I wrote it for him.
E.G., before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am an author with many self published works. Poetry and fiction is the main essence of my writing. I pride myself in my poetic prose and ability to bend the rules of storytelling.
My writing journey began in middle school. In the army I began to educate myself on how to perfect my penmanship and wordsmithing. After my service I began to publish my works independently.
I believe what sets me apart is a great many things. My inspirations extend beyond books. I learn to tell tales from various forms of media. I incorporate these influences into my writing in more ways than one. I’ve no interest in trends or what I believe publishers want to push to readers. I write what a fan like myself wants to read who enjoys these inspirations.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an author is having my work acknowledged. Everyone wants to be paid for their efforts, but my reward is when readers enjoy my work. The appreciation of someone anywhere in the world feeling emotion for the characters and stories I crafted is truly a feeling I have yet to quantify. To me, this acknowledgement is more than enough to keep going and to do better. It is a self-sustaining loop.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Building a social media audience and presence as a writer does take work. I didn’t have a guide to achieve this and had to figure it out along the way. I started to build traction by interacting with mutuals. I participated in pitch events where people would get a chance to see what I was working on. I posted some of my work including but not limited to poems. I do freestyle poems and micro-stories with daily writing prompts.
Interaction with the community in which I share a craft has helped a lot. Positivity is essential to my business and I encourage people who are just starting their journey to uplift others as much as possible when possible.
