We recently connected with Dynasty Smith and have shared our conversation below.
Dynasty, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What do you think it takes to be successful?
I think it takes belief in yourself and a willingness to never give up
Dynasty, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Dynasty smith and I started in the music/entertainment industry back in my home town Atlantic city Nj , I am now in Atlanta and have performed in various Venus all over Atlanta in my journey i was introduced to radio and now host a podcast on black ink radio , in addition I have begun to host and perform on the GoGo Party Bus Concert Series and hosting shows as well as performing my original music, acting and writing and producing film I have worked with amazing producers ,promotors and other artist , I would probably say if i could solve the problem of helping educate artist in what they do and understanding the promotional aspects and being unique in what they do I would love to do that on a larger scale, I am most proud of my mom and the influence she has in my life and the reason my artist name is Dynasty as a tribute to her I also did a song titled “Karen” (my mom’s name) she passed in 2006.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
When I was first introduced to the entertainment industry it was through a studio engineer, and I enlisted 2 other girls to form a 3-girl group with the intent of replacing myself unfortunately we had some challenges and after changing out members 3 times it did not work out. I became turned off of the group concept I was never interested in being a solo artist, but I fell in love with the music business and discovered a passion for writing and entertaining I was upset when the group split and cried about it , But I decided to push forward as a solo artist and although I was scared , it ended up being the best thing that ever happened and I stayed with it moved to Atlanta and met some amazing talented people and supporters who believe in me I would not trade my journey for the world it has not been easy but i learned and continue to learn more and more about the industry I also met someone from the well-known group Kool and the gang and he did not agree with me on the tracks I chose from producer J-Stylz he introduced me to former member of r&b group BLACKstreet , I stuck with my decision and one of the singles became my first charted single promoted by Song source Music Group . the single is “When I Get Home”
