We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Dynasty Myles a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, Dynasty thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Do you think your parents have had a meaningful impact on you and your journey?

My parents did many things right, but what stands out most is that they instilled responsibility, resilience, and the expectation to figure things out. I was taught early that effort matters, that nothing comes without work, and that accountability is non-negotiable. Those lessons shaped how I show up in life and in business.

They also did something symbolic that will always stay with me, they named me Dynasty. Growing up with my name carried an unspoken expectation: to think beyond myself, to build something lasting, and to understand that what I create should outlive me. That sense of purpose quietly influenced how I approached my education, my career, and eventually entrepreneurship.

One moment that stays with me is starting work young and being trusted with real responsibility. That experience taught me confidence, not through words, but through action. Today, as a business owner and a mother, I see how those early lessons echo in everything I do. They didn’t just prepare me to make money, they prepared me to build stability, create opportunity, and live up to the legacy my name represents.

Dynasty, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

My name is Dynasty Myles, widely known as “The Millennial Accountant.” I’m an accountant, educator, and entrepreneur with years of hands-on experience working with individuals, families, and business owners through Mylestone Accounting Solutions (MAS). I began my career in tax preparation straight out of high school, where years in the trenches showed me that most people need more than compliance. They needed understanding and structure.

That insight led me to create Mylestone Operations (MO), a parent brand that expands beyond traditional accounting services. Today, MO includes Mylestone Accounting Solutions, Mylestone Academy, and the Mylestone Foundation, where my work spans accounting, business education, youth financial literacy, and community impact.

What sets my work apart is a focus on accessibility and legacy. Translating complex financial systems into practical guidance while helping families, including the next generation, build stability today and create a stronger foundation for tomorrow.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?

One of the most defining pivots in my life was shifting from a computer science major to accounting. I initially chose computer science because I loved technology, problem-solving, and how systems work. But along the way, I realized that while I enjoyed the technical aspects, my natural strengths were already showing up elsewhere.

I had been working in tax preparation and finance early on, and what came naturally to me was understanding numbers, explaining them to others, and seeing how financial decisions impacted real people. The pivot wasn’t about abandoning what I loved, it was about applying those same system-based skills to something I already knew deeply and could execute with confidence.

That decision shaped everything that followed. It allowed me to build real world expertise, grow into entrepreneurship, and eventually create the Mylestone organizations. Looking back, that pivot taught me an important lesson: alignment doesn’t mean starting over. It often means leaning into what’s already been preparing you.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?

My strongest source of new clients has been community. Building genuine relationships, showing up consistently, and being trusted as a resource and not just a service provider, has created organic growth through word-of-mouth, referrals, and long-term relationships.
