We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Dylan Trigg. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Dylan below.
Alright, Dylan thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
I started Triggered Media Co. because I wanted to tell stories that make a difference.
Before launching my own company, I worked at a marketing agency, producing content for clients across industries. The work was fast-paced and results-driven, but I often felt disconnected from the impact of what I was creating. I found myself fueling campaigns for brands that didn’t align with who I was—or who I wanted to be.
Eventually, that disconnect became too big to ignore. I knew I had more to offer than just high-performing content. I wanted to use storytelling to help people and organizations doing meaningful work, those rooted in community, culture, and the outdoors. These are the spaces I care about deeply, and I believe they’re where we can drive real impact through powerful, thoughtful content.
So I took the leap and started Triggered Media Co.
Now, I collaborate with nonprofits, small businesses, and outdoor-focused organizations to create content that doesn’t just sell. It connects. From video campaigns and branded storytelling to social and ad content, my goal is always the same: to tell authentic stories that move people and create lasting impact.
At the heart of it, Triggered Media Co. is about purpose-driven storytelling, and I’m proud to be building a business rooted in something bigger than myself.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Hi, I’m Dylan, the founder of Triggered Media Co.,a video marketing company built on the belief that stories rooted in community, culture, and the outdoors have the power to make a real impact.
Before starting my own business, I worked at an agency producing content that, while effective, didn’t reflect the kind of values I wanted to represent. I was helping companies grow, but I felt disconnected from the why behind the work. That experience taught me a lot about strategy and performance—but it also made me realize that I wanted to use those skills in a more intentional way.
So I took a leap and launched Triggered Media Co. My goal was simple: create content that actually matters. To my clients, their communities, and the people they serve.
We specialize in strategy-first video marketing-meaning we don’t just make eye-catching content for the sake of it. We partner closely with brands, nonprofits, and mission-driven businesses to develop video strategies aligned with their goals, audiences, and values. Whether it’s a launch video, brand story, ad funnel content, or social campaigns, everything we make is built to drive results and resonate on a human level.
What sets us apart is that blend of creative storytelling and strategic thinking. We’re not just videographers—we’re collaborators, invested in helping our clients grow through meaningful content. I’m most proud of the long-term partnerships we’ve built with people and organizations doing real good in the world.
At the end of the day, I started Triggered Media Co. because I believe great stories deserve to be told well—and I’m here to make that happen.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the biggest lessons I had to unlearn was that faster isn’t always better. Early in my career, I worked in a high-speed, high-turnover environment where marketing campaigns came and went every 15 to 30 days. There was no time for craft, just output. Story didn’t matter, quality didn’t matter—I was operating on autopilot.
Over time, I realized that pace was killing my creativity. When I started Triggered Media Co., I had to completely relearn how to slow down, get intentional, and dive deep into the heart of each project. That shift reminded me why I fell in love with storytelling in the first place, and it’s now the foundation of everything I do.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
A big pivot for me was moving away from one-off video projects and shifting to a retainer model with my clients. In the early stages of Triggered Media Co., I was doing individual shoots, film it, edit it, deliver it, and move on. While that worked, I quickly realized that I wasn’t growing alongside my clients or helping them grow in the long term.
Shifting to retainer-based work allowed me to build real relationships, understand their evolving goals, and create content that supports their long-term vision. It’s not just more sustainable for my business. It’s more fulfilling creatively. I get to be a true partner, not just a vendor. That pivot changed everything.
