We recently connected with Dylan Pierce and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Dylan, thanks for joining us today. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
As I grow older and continue creating I often think about who will see my work when I’m gone. Which is honestly a scary thought for me. It’s why I try to make each thing I create somewhat better than the last or at least learn something new with each project I make. When I leave this world I want my work to tell a story not just about me but about life. I hope that when people look back on my legacy they see someone who just wanted to make people laugh and enjoy life. At the end of the day that’s what it’s all about, enjoying the life we’ve been given. For me laughter is an immense joy we get to experience. I just hope I get to be the person to help others experience it.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Dylan Pierce and I’m an online content creator. I make videos on YouTube with my closest friends. A lot of my videos consist of some sort of challenge my friends and I must overcome. During these challenges there’s lot of jokes and skits that help bring a dynamic to our videos that I don’t think a lot of people on the platform are doing. I’m really big on storytelling and art, so I always try to bring some kind of story into my videos that usually has a positive message about life and humanity. I think it’s super important for our audience to not only laugh but leave our videos feeling happy and accomplished.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I’ve been making videos since I was in middle school. I wouldn’t say I was bullied for it but I was definitely teased about it by classmates. Often teachers and adults would tell me I couldn’t make a career out of it. Which is understandable from their perspective but at the end of the day no one knows what you’re capable of except yourself. Honestly the doubt was my motivation and I owe them a thank you. That being said there were still a few students and teachers who showed support and I am so thankful for them.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Be true to yourself and stay consistent with it. It’s so easy to try and be someone else online but you’ll be way happier once you’ve accepted yourself. It’s almost crazy how many people will relate to the real you. Create something you’re proud of that you can look back on 10 years from now and still enjoy. It’s important to realize trends die so try to make something that is timeless.
