We recently connected with Dylan Fox and have shared our conversation below.
Dylan , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
Take a moment. Think about the last time someone did a random act of kindness for you. How did it make you feel?
Chances are, it left you smiling, feeling lighter, maybe even inspired to do something kind for someone else.
Congratulations, you’re already in a chain reaction of kindness! That’s exactly what the Kindness Chain Organization is about: spreading hope, uplifting others, and thriving together.
My dreamers and visionaries at home may wonder: Is it difficult creating a community? In other words … could I really do it myself?
The honest answer is: as long as you have a passion, you can do it!
For myself, that passion was sharing good vibes; something I was already doing through my personal brand, FoxFoodReviews.
For the past three years, I’ve poured my heart into that platform for my community. I focused on sharing joy through food, mental health awareness, and motivation to chase dreams.
My goal was simple: if I could bring even a little positivity into someone’s day, then it was worth it. That energy & ripple effect became the spark that later grew into the Kindness Chain.
One random day, I’m outside the New York Knicks stadium watching a playoff game in the streets with other fans. The Knicks staff started throwing out limited-edition shirts, and somehow I caught one! I felt ecstatic…until I heard a stranger behind me saying it was his birthday today.
Something inside me said, “Give it to him. Make his day.” So I did. I handed him the shirt, wished him happy birthday, and he told me we were destined to meet that day.
Destined. That word stuck with me.
A few days later, it hit me: I’d just created a chain reaction of kindness. Who knows who he might have impacted with that uplifted energy?
Maybe he bought his friends food. Maybe he smiled at a stranger. Maybe he laughed a little more that day. It became clear that kindness doesn’t stop at one person: it moves, multiplies, and grows.
Why does the Kindness Chain mean so much to me?
On the day of my college graduation, I was in an Uber with a preacher. He told me, “God – or the Universe – places gifts inside of us for a reason. The world NEEDS those gifts. Empty the tank before you die.”
That line hit my soul. In the middle of a confusing quarter life crisis, clarity rushed in about what my purpose is on this planet. Even 8 year old Dylan always knew he wanted to help others, but the million dollar question is: how?
This is how.
As you and I both know, life can be difficult. We’ve all faced our own storms, and I’m proud that you and I are still standing here today.
I’ve battled lifelong mental health challenges, was bullied growing up, and lost my dad when I was just 12. Through all the perseverance, I learned one thing: the world deserves more kindness. More good hearts. More people who choose to be the light that radiates brightly.
That’s what the Kindness Chain is about. The kindness inside of your heart. That spark you have that refuses to go away, even after surviving your storms.
That is what makes you a part of our journey together in creating the world we want to see.
Every small act, every smile, every moment of compassion creates ripples that reach farther than you’ll ever know.
Together, we can build a world where kindness isn’t random– it’s the norm.
LET’S THRIVE TOGETHER!
Dylan , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Let’s be honest: we all get a little lost in life sometimes. And that’s totally okay, this is all our first time living life.
Even the elderly residents (ages 60-90+) at the nursing home where I worked during college agree. They are still “figuring things out” and “taking it one day at a time.”
So, do me a favor: take a deep breath. Maybe two. Even three.
If you’re reading this and feel uncertain about your path, I see you. I promise that you’re not behind.
While kindness deserves to be shared with others, you are just as deserving of kindness and self care.
After failing my nursing major in 2023, I dropped out of college. My mental health spiraled as I watched my entire future flip upside down in a heartbeat. I was lost.
Times were difficult after losing my sense of purpose in life. I stopped going to therapy as well, which only worsened my depression. I lost a part of my healthy support system; someone I was comfortable fully opening up to.
But our story isn’t about giving up; it’s about how we choose to get up when life knocks us down.
Feeling lost can actually be a gift. Through that uncertainty, we create space to discover what truly matters and begin finding ourselves again.
Omari Lockhart, my blessed academic advisor, helped me re-enroll in school. I switched to Psychology and was going to complete an entirely new major in my senior year! Honestly, thinking about the challenge ahead made me feel anxious every day, but it also taught me courage.
Looking back as a graduate, taking a leap of faith into the unknown was exactly what I needed.
Through my own struggles, I became passionate about mental health and creating uplifting communities. I wanted to turn my pain into purpose so we could all thrive together.
Following my heart made me realize what I value most: happiness, peace, and freedom.
That same vision fuels everything I create for both of my content-creating passions. My communities are built on making genuine friendships, doing random acts of kindness, making people feel seen, and uplifting each other.
‘
With this vision in mind, Kindness Chain Organization has grown rapidly. At first, it started as a random act of kindness in New York City with the birthday gift I gave to the stranger.
Flash forward six months, and it has now become a movement for community impact and spreading hope. Our current goals focus on food insecurity as well as mental health awareness.
On the other hand, FoxFoodReviews continues to inspire, entertain, and make people feel seen with social media content. It’s more than a 22-year old stuffing his face with food on camera; it’s about feeding the soul of the viewer.
I strive to connect people through my creative storytelling, kindness campaigns, and social media videos. Through my work, I aspire to spread hope and invite others to be a part of the change we wish to see in the world.
Kindness Chain and FoxFoodReviews both solve the problem of, “How can we thrive despite our struggles?”. That is why my slogan is “Let’s Thrive Together!”.
Everything I do from FoxFoodReviews to Kindness Chain Organization, is rooted in three values. These are authentic connections, empathy, and the belief that kindness and purpose can coexist with ambition.
If I were unable to stay true to my morals as a CEO, then this wouldn’t be the path for me.
As a healing perfectionist, it’s rare that I feel proud of myself. However, if all I do in my life is eat good food, laugh, and spread kindness, then I have lived well.
Just remember: you are just as much a part of this chain reaction of kindness as I am. You are just as deserving of creating the life you dream of as I am.
Let’s thrive together!
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Here is our mission: If we truly see every person as equal, we must also support one another as such.
At first, I led Kindness Chain during the mental health awareness months in May and June of 2025. Beyond spreading awareness online, I also began my first campaign in person.
During finals week, as college students, we become burnt out and self-care becomes a struggle. Making students across William Paterson University feel supported through tough times became my goal. Their mental health matters just as much as mine.
After purchasing hundreds of mental health stickers (thank you, Amazon), I decided to be brave and hand them out to strangers across our campus. To my amazement, people were beyond grateful because of the timing and unexpectedness. They also didn’t expect someone they had just met to care for their mental health.
Realizing the chain reactions I created, it was time to scale up my mission. After months of planning what was next, I decided to leave New Jersey for my next campaign.
Introducing Operation: New York City.
What would the impact be if I went up to people at Central Park and did random acts of kindness? How would they react if I distributed motivational stickers and bracelets as tangible sources of inspiration?
Even though my social anxiety has improved over the years with FoxFoodReviews and Kindness Chain, the thought of this terrified me. I questioned if I had what it took to do something wholesome yet bold.
But as the preacher during my graduation said, “God places gifts inside of our hearts for a reason. Empty the tank before we die.”
Terrified but inspired, I took on Central Park over the course of July through September 2025. To my surprise, this movement gave me a sense of purpose in my life that I longed for since failing nursing.
The mission began as random acts of kindness, but lacked a clear goal beyond making strangers smile. The stickers were given for free, while the bracelets were to fundraise for our organization.
At the conclusion of our first Central Park event, I found a homeless man named Jacob by the exit of the subway. I told him I couldn’t preach kindness and then keep the money for Kindness Chain, not when someone in front of me needed it more.
I gave him every penny that I made that day, but that’s not what made him happiest. Jacob said the best part of our interaction was being treated with respect as a human, not just “a homeless person.”
I told him that I don’t care if you’re homeless or a multi-billionaire: we’re all equal in my eyes for the sole fact that you are human and deserve to be treated with dignity.
He opened up about his depression and losing his mother, with no way to get back home to Ohio. I shared that I’ve faced depression myself, but encouraged him that even in our darkest moments, things can still turn around.
Jacob told me that nobody wants to be homeless, but people treating him kindly makes a world of difference. He used to view the world cynically and lost all hope in it, but people surprisingly treated him with respect in NYC.
This interaction inspired me to shift Kindness Chain into a movement that helps people thrive, regardless of their background.
As a result, I had a burning passion to lead the next NYC events; this time focusing on food insecurity (inability to afford food). Heartfelt conversations began with introducing our mission and encouraging donations to support the homeless.
With a mission in mind, donations skyrocketed compared to the first event. My soul felt lighter every time I saw someone smile from the conversation, bracelet, or stickers they received. The chain reaction of kindness was fully in motion!
I also donated to aspiring creatives: singers and artists who were brave enough to chase their dreams in public. I encouraged them that they were doing a great job and to keep doing what they love.
Over the following two months, I traveled to New York City on over 10 missions. The kindness and donations of Central Park visitors have lead to reminding those without shelter that they are just as worthy of thriving as we are. Hot, delicious meals are tangible proof that we have not forgotten about the underprivileged.
The chain reaction started small at the Knicks playoff game because I stayed true to my heart. Now, I am proud to say that there are people across the world who remember that hope and good hearts still exist in this world.
While Kindness Chain Organization was only founded in April 2025, the potential is limitless. You and I can spread this movement worldwide, doing one act of kindness at a time.
Are you ready?
Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative?
If you believe you are not a creative person, remember that you are capable of designing the life you want.
To my ambitious readers, my dreamers, and anyone who wants more out of life than you’ve yet experienced:
1. What do YOU actually want? (Not what others tell you to want.)
2. What values matter most to you?
3. And most importantly, what would light up the little kid in you again?
Listen to the answers that arise within you– that is where your truth lives.
That is how you find your way.
