Hi Dwayne , thanks for joining us today. Do you have a hero? What have you learned from them?
My hero is my grandmother Paulene Kidd. She was a very strong minded woman and very smart she show me how to stand on my own 2 feet and be a man. I love how she love everyone no matter what you did are who you was she respected you on how you present yourself to her … She encouraged me to always be myself and always believe in me and my business’s. I will have never had a business is it wasn’t for her. She help me with my 1st business that was a janitorial company that was open for two years and a half and then a Catering company that been open 16 year! Because of here blessing in me I have had a opportunity, to see world cooking for people all over the world. I have done weddings & dinner, private chef job party all over the world! She gave me the tools I would need to be successful the kind you don’t get in school! I can survive anything because I saw her go through everything, and she always came out with a smile, a bigger heart, and standing on God’s word. So my hero was a gift from God not just my grandmother!
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I started with nothing born in Dallas, Texas and South Oak Cliff. I had a vision to be something. I had so many things that I was good at and cooking was one. People would tell me I was a great cook and should start selling it, so I did and it open so many great doors for me. I got to work for football player and Lawyers. I got to work for judges ,doctors teachers, and the list goes on and on it open so many doors for me because I have learn to cook all types of food for any race of people I can get along with anyone of any background. I have people who fly me in and out I am really bless.
I will say this, no matter where you came from no matter your background your
Color you can be anything that you want to be! Keep your hands in God hand and putting in the work ,hang around people that can help you and teach you where you fall short and hang around people who want to see you win. Always trust your heart and know that you are worthy and that you deserve anything that anyone else have if you put in the work. You have to fight for it what I mean by that is write your own plan down then start with step 1 of your plan sometimes things don’t work according to our plan, go back to the drawing board and start over again and come up with a different strategy. The vision do not ever change, but the plan will sometimes! Keep going until you get it right.
I had to do that many times still have to you can always get batter and have more in your life and in business by having a vision and plan!
Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.
I work for home health care for years while doing my catering on the side I use my home health care check to invest into my catering company. I started with selling plates on the side to so it help me build the force that I am today. I am very proud of myself for everything that I have accomplished.
It took me time to by my own food warmers, my utensils, my own drinking Spencer’s and the list go on and on.
Once I got everything that I need it. I put myself out there as a chef and let the world know that I was ready to give them the best food of they life I took it day by day I got calls I got booked the people enjoy the food they end up, sending me more and more customers and business. And it picked up over and over the years.
With that being said, I put in the work I trust God and I believe every word that my grandmother told me I kept it in my heart and I knew it was no failure in me
Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
I keep my customers because I am loyal to them first. I never forget the reason why I am where I am in life is because of the customers. Yes I am the chef I do the food I make sure they have a amazing time while they eat and enjoy, but they money help invest in me to be more great and pay my bills and to help me learn and be able to buy new things and new gadgets to be able to do a better job each time that I come to serve them. I never forget that my customers have made me the force that I am, and I will forever be grateful any business have to have customers or it no business it’s just a name.
