We recently connected with Dulce Morales and have shared our conversation below.
Dulce, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Any advice for creating a more inclusive workplace?
I surround yourself with a diverse community. You’re able to learn of their challenges and open your mind and hard to provide the opportunities that they need however, I feel that in order to do this you need to be an empathetic person.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Cedillo’s Fresh Produce was founded by my husband Juan Carlos Cedillo, who is a third generation farmer. He has always loved nature. In 2010 Juan graduated from the Windy City harvest apprenticeship program and for then on he had embarked on a mission to make sure his family ate nutritious meals, but he did not want to limited the access to his family. He wanted to make sure that the community had also access to nutritious vegetables and a side from growing our own food and for the community we also established a farmers market in Little Village Latino community in Chicago this Farmers Market does not only make sure that our community has accessible rich Nutrients Vegetables, but also an outlet for new entrepreneurs to showcase their products

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Cedillos fresh produce Is a name that is recognized by many in our growing community we decided to put our last name to show To everyone how dedicated we are while doing this, we added fresh produce because we are warranting our customers that they will be receiving the freshest produce, we can provide we accomplished this by making sure that we harvest everything the day off or the day before the markets or delivery.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
In 2020 we thought that we were going to have more challenges due to Covid. However we were able to get more volunteers. Everybody wanted to be outside instead of indoors to avoid contact. We also had a higher demand than the previous years we had started our CSA in 2019 and, five years later, we have retained most of our customers because they have seen all the effort we We put in making sure that they received what we promise we see the love and support we get because they keep coming back and sharing their produce on social media as well as taking the time to volunteer at her farm
