We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Dulce Dagda. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Dulce below.
Hi Dulce, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear the backstory of how you established your own practice.
When I decided to start my own practice, it came from a very personal place. Years ago, I went through a serious health challenge that completely changed how I saw food, stress, and wellness. That experience became the foundation of my passion for holistic nutrition and the reason I wanted to help other women take care of their bodies in a smarter, more compassionate way.
In the early days, I started small—just sharing simple nutrition tips online, recording videos from home, and offering one-on-one consultations. From there, I built my practice step by step: creating structured programs, studying constantly to deepen my knowledge, and learning how to connect with my community in a way that felt real and relatable.
The biggest challenges were finding balance between the creative side—content, clients, ideas—and the business side—systems, pricing, and consistency. Building trust also took time. People don’t just buy information; they look for connection and credibility. That’s something that can’t be rushed.
If I could go back, I’d tell myself to delegate sooner and not try to do everything alone. It’s easy to burn out when you wear all the hats—nutritionist, marketer, designer, editor. Having a team, even a small one, makes a huge difference.
For anyone thinking of starting their own practice, my advice is: start where you are. You don’t need to have it all figured out. Focus on helping people, be consistent, and stay true to your values. The right clients will find you when your message comes from an honest place.

Dulce, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m a Board-Certified Holistic Nutritionist based in San Diego, California. My passion for nutrition came after going through a serious health challenge that completely changed my life. At that time, I realized how much food, mindset, and daily habits can influence not only how we feel physically, but also how we think, age, and show up in the world. That experience inspired me to dedicate my career to helping women understand their bodies and hormones in a realistic and sustainable way.
My work focuses on helping women—especially those over 35—restore balance in their hormones, energy, digestion, and metabolism through nutrition, lifestyle, and education. I combine science-based nutrition with a holistic approach, always aiming to make wellness practical and enjoyable, never extreme or obsessive.
Through my platforms—YouTube, podcast, and social media—I share free educational content about topics like blood sugar balance, gut health, perimenopause, fitness, and beauty from within. But beyond the content, I also work privately with women through my one-on-one programs. I offer two options: a 4-session package and an 8-session package. I don’t offer single consultations because real change takes time, follow-up, and accountability. These sessions are designed to guide each woman step by step—adjusting nutrition, supplements, and habits until she truly feels the difference in her body and mind.
What sets me apart is that I’ve been on both sides—the patient and the practitioner. I understand what it feels like to be tired, inflamed, or disconnected from your body. My approach is rooted in empathy, education, and a deep respect for individuality. I don’t believe in quick fixes or one-size-fits-all diets. I believe in balance, nourishment, and sustainable progress.
What makes me proud is seeing how my work genuinely impacts lives—when a client tells me her bloating is gone, her energy is back, her skin is glowing again, or that she finally understands her body, that’s the best reward.
For anyone new to my work, I want you to know that everything I share is backed by both science and lived experience. My goal is to help women feel strong, confident, and balanced—not just on the outside, but from within.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective way I’ve grown my clientele is by combining education, connection, and consistency. I focus on creating content that genuinely helps women understand their bodies and hormones — that’s how trust starts. Through my YouTube, podcast, and social media, women get to know my approach before working with me, so when they reach out, they already feel aligned.
I also only offer 4- and 8-session packages because real results take time. That structure helps my clients stay consistent, and most of my growth has come through their referrals. In short, I focus on educating, connecting, and delivering real results — that’s what keeps my practice growing naturally.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
A big lesson I had to unlearn was believing that more effort always means better results. For a long time, I pushed myself to the limit — overworking, overexercising, and trying to “do it all” perfectly. It came from a good place; I wanted to help others and grow my business. But that mindset led to burnout and health issues that forced me to slow down and reevaluate everything.
I learned that balance isn’t laziness — it’s wisdom. Rest, boundaries, and self-care aren’t obstacles to success; they’re what make it sustainable. Once I started applying that same message of balance to myself, not just my clients, everything shifted — my health improved, my creativity came back, and my work became much more aligned with my purpose.
