We were lucky to catch up with Dulce Almario recently and have shared our conversation below.
Dulce, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Showing clients you appreciate them is something I think most folks want to do – but it’s not always clear how to do it in a meaningful way. What’s one of the best examples of client appreciation you can share with us?
We genuinely want to help our clients succeed. We offer a 360 support to them to make their product launch easier. Often times for start-ups, we find that they don’t necessarily know where to go for their needs outside fragrance. We are also very adpatable and we truly treat them as family and our partners. We value the relationships that we are creating with them. Our goal is to nurture them in the beginning and to continue to grow with them on their journey.

Dulce, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I have 25+ years of experience in the Fragrance and Beauty industry, where I held executive positions in fragrance & product development, sales and global marketing. Currently, I lead the newly established C3 by Cosmo, Fragrance Accelerator division at Cosmo International Fragrances. Prior to Cosmo International Fragrances. I started my career as an R&D chemist at L’Oreal, which paved the way for me to work in the different segments of the industry. My received my undergrad degree in Chemistry from Rutgers University & my Master in Cosmetics and Fragrance Marketing from the Fashion Institute of Technology.
Having worked in all the different functions of the beauty and fragrance business, I’m most proud of our availability to provide guidance, support and a 360 approach to our clients. She serves as a mentor for the FIT undergraduate Cosmetics & Fragrance Marketing program and is on the advisory board for the World Smell & Taste Association.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Our ability to be agile, which in turn allows us to be faster. Our partners (clientele) is our number priority, we ensure that they have the support that they need during the development process. We do our best to work with the needs of our partners, we are their trusted partners from the beginning. One of our goals is to grow with them and be part of their journey, they are an extension of our vision and mission.

How do you keep your team’s morale high?
Embrace all the different skill sets that your team can offer to build a stronger team. It’s ok that you’re not the expert on everything.. We need to tap into what the next generation can bring, learn from them and train them. A great leader will let their team shine while providing support and guidance.
