We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful DTC Production. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with DTC below.
Alright, DTC thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Alright – so having the idea is one thing, but going from idea to execution is where countless people drop the ball. Can you talk to us about your journey from idea to execution?
It all started when Denisha, Tanysha and Catina were working together on a film project. We each had different roles on the project, but we quickly realized we shared the same passion for storytelling and creating captivating content such as our first project “Collective Trust❌” a crime-comedy series.
We also networked with numerous people from the film industry. We researched local cinematographers and reviewed their work to choose the right person for the job. This was based on quality of work, previous projects, and price point for our budget. We secured the cinematographer after all the writing was done, we needed to secure film dates and times. We have accomplished filming 2 out of 6 episodes.
1. Conducting market research: Before starting DTC production company, it was important to us have a clear understanding of our target audience and our needs.
2. Business plan created: This plan outlines DTC production company’s mission, vision, goals, and how we plan to achieve
them.
3. Registering our business with the secretary of state:
We register our company with the appropriate regulatory agencies.
4. Setting up our production space: to identify a suitable location as well as set up production space for DTC production.
5. Acquiring space: we need to purchase or lease the necessary studios space for production process.
6. Branding and developing production: we brand our company and developed DTC products & production.
7. Advertise and market the production: Once you have your production ready for the big screen , it’s time to advertise and promote it.
These were crucial steps involved in starting DTC production company.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
We all met on the production from a local filmmaker / photographer, Khicktrax productions. We all seem to be business like minded. We went and meet for dinner and talked things over about making ourselves start, so we wouldn’t have to be backgrounds on other productions. That was the start of something great! This was January 2023. Since then we have collaboratively started filming and and have two episodes ready for distribution. The remaining 4 episodes to be filmed for the complete crime / comedy series, “Collective Trust X”.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The best part is having complete creative control. The security of having a trustworthy team with an unbreakable bond. We are the bosses and call all of the shots. We direct, write, and act. This is a family that creates a loving environment for their talent. We give the under dog a chance to become great and an opportunity that was not otherwise awarded to them due to their inexperience.
