We recently connected with DTA EXPERIENCE and have shared our conversation below.
DTA, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
I got introduced to the Turntables at 8 years old by my older brothers DJ Greg G & DJ Maniac (RIP). By the time I was 13 I knew I wanted to do music for the rest of my life.

DTA, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I started in the business professionally at age 15 djing and co producing songs for various rappers & singers. With guidance from the Diabolical Biz Markie (RIP) I sharpened my skillset and eventually my talents afforded me the opportunity to work with some of the biggest mega stars of our generation ranging from EPMD, Bad Boy and Wutang to LL Cool J, Kevin Hart, Beyonce and even Prince (RIP). Speaking of Prince, becoming a member of the NPG was one of the high points of my career alongside of being inducted in the Long Island Music Hall Of Fame. I feel what sets me a part from most DJ’s is my ability to play multiple positions on the court. When DJing for Super Stars my job is to at all times make them look spectacular. If it’s just me and the artist then I am the sole pilot steering the direction of the ship. If playing with a band then I become an important part of an elaborate ensemble. When doing solo DTA (Diamond The Artist) shows then I become the center of attention. Intense work ethic while being able to play all positions is what keeps me relevant still after 2 decades in the industry. Whether performing in theaters, arenas, festivals, event spaces doing open format concerts or corporate activations, on stage I am truly one of the best the world has ever seen!

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Bringing joy to the world. I’ve had people come up to me at shows and tell me that I somehow changed their life or helped them get through a certain time period or rough patch. I’ve learned that these gifts that God has bestowed upon me are definitely rays of light and if shined at exactly the right moment, can truly inspire whomever it gets shined upon. I love what I do and I do what I love …. no complaints here.

Do you think there is something that non-creatives might struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can shed some light?
In my experience I’ve found that non-creatives never understand a creatives time management. I feel this is because most non-creatives usually have a job that has regimented hours ie: 9 to 5 whereas my hours are from whenever to whenever. Being an entrepreneur is some of the hardest, longest but most rewarding work you’ll ever do because you’re doing it solely for you.
