Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Drs. Femi And Bola Ogunjinmi. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Drs. Femi and Bola, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’re complete cheeseballs and so we love asking folks to share the most heartwarming moment from their career – do you have a touching moment you can share with us?
One story that always warms our hearts is from a couple we worked with early in our marriage ministry. They had been married for over 15 years but admitted they had grown distant, barely communicating beyond what was necessary for their household. They came to one of our retreats as a last effort to save their marriage, with little hope that things could truly change.
During the retreat, we introduced them to simple but intentional practices like daily affirmations, heartfelt conversations, and moments of prayer together. By the second day, they had a breakthrough during one of the exercises. The husband shared feelings he had kept buried for years, and his wife broke down, realizing how much they had both been hurting in silence.
Fast forward a year later, and they returned to one of our events—not as attendees but as volunteers. They shared how their marriage had been completely transformed, and they now made it a priority to intentionally love and support each other daily. Seeing them not only rebuild their relationship but also pour into others was one of the most rewarding moments of our journey.
It’s stories like this that remind us why we do what we do—helping couples reconnect, heal, and build marriages that thrive. It also that remind us of the scripture, “With God, all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26). He truly is the author of restoration, and we are so grateful to be vessels for His work in marriages.
Drs. Femi and Bola, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
We are Drs. Femi and Bola, a millennial couple passionate about transforming relationships and marriages worldwide through faith, intentionality, and love. Our journey into this ministry began with our own story—one of growth, learning, and letting God guide us in building a Christ-centered marriage. What started as a desire to share our experiences has blossomed into a global platform where we inspire and empower couples to thrive in their relationships.
Through our ministry, we offer services like Couples Retreats, Counseling, the Real-Lationship Series, Couples Meetups, Speaking Engagements, and Publications. Each offering is designed to help couples tackle real challenges—whether it’s communication breakdowns, lack of intimacy, or the struggle to balance faith with modern-day pressures. What sets us apart is that we work together as a couple team, bringing both perspectives to our teachings and blending biblical principles with practical, actionable strategies.
One of the things we’re most proud of is creating spaces where couples can be vulnerable, heal from past wounds, and rediscover each other in meaningful ways. We’ve witnessed countless transformations—marriages saved, families restored, and couples stepping into their God-given purpose together.
Our ministry is rooted in authenticity, faith, and love. We understand the challenges of modern relationships, but we also believe in the power of God to restore and take marriages from surviving to thriving. Whether through retreats, speaking engagements, or online platforms, we’re here to encourage and equip couples to build relationships that honor God and bring joy.
At the heart of it all, we are a couple who loves God, loves each other, and loves helping others experience the same joy and fulfillment in their relationships. This isn’t just a ministry for us—it’s our calling, and we’re honored to walk alongside couples on this journey.

Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
Other than training and knowledge, the most helpful factors for succeeding in our field of marriage ministry are authenticity, empathy, a servant heart, faith, and resilience. Authenticity is key—people can sense when you’re genuine. By sharing our own struggles, victories, and faith journey, we connect with couples on a personal level, building trust, which is essential in this work. Empathy is also crucial, as understanding and relating to the unique challenges couples face allows us to listen without judgment, meet people where they are, and walk alongside them. Having a servant heart is another important aspect. Success in this field isn’t just about providing advice or services; it’s about genuinely desiring to help others heal, grow, and thrive in their relationships through God’s love and guidance. Additionally, faith and prayer play a foundational role in everything we do. Leaning on God for wisdom and strength keeps us grounded, aligned, and connected to our purpose. Lastly, resilience and patience are vital, as transforming relationships takes time. There will be moments when progress feels slow, but remaining patient and committed helps us continue making an impact. When we combine these qualities with our knowledge, we’re able to create meaningful change and help couples build marriages that reflect God’s design.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
One lesson we had to unlearn was the idea that success in our ministry came from doing everything ourselves. Early on, we believed that in order to make a significant impact, we needed to handle every detail ourselves—whether it was managing retreats, counseling sessions, or content creation. We were deeply passionate about our calling and wanted to give our all, but we soon realized that trying to do it all on our own wasn’t sustainable, and it took a toll on our energy and our relationship.
The turning point came when we realized that God didn’t call us to do this work alone. We began to learn the importance of delegation and collaboration, not only within our own team but also with the couples we serve. It was a humbling process of learning to trust others and acknowledging that God has surrounded us with a community of people who share our vision and can help us fulfill our calling. Through this shift, we’ve found that when we work together—whether as a couple, with our team, or with other ministry partners—we can accomplish so much more. This has allowed us to focus on what we do best, while also empowering others to bring their unique gifts to the table.
Unlearning this mindset has helped us experience deeper rest, greater joy, and more meaningful impact. We’ve learned that success is not about doing everything ourselves, but about being obedient to God’s calling and trusting His provision through others.
