Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Dria Jackson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Dria, appreciate you joining us today. What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?

My mother always told me that I can do whatever I put my mind to, and do the best at whatever that is. It took me years to figure out what that something was, but once I did I put my all into it. Dria Love Co was born through hard work, consistency and determination. Over the years, what my mother told me really started to make sense. Through simply believing in myself and putting one foot after the other, I created a beauty, health and wellness brand.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

My name is Dria Jackson, owner of Dria Love Co. The brand that inspires you to make self care your top priority. Dria Love Co provides top quality bath and body care products intended to treat and nourish your body. Our products are formulated with natural ingredients giving you relief of knowing you aren’t putting toxic ingredients on or in your body. All of our products are animal cruelty free, vegan and formulated with organic ingredients. From Body Cremes, Oils and Scrubs everyone can benefit from indulging in bit of self care.

With certifications in Yoga and Personal Fitness, we also provide services such as group yoga/fitness classes and private sessions for those looking to work on there mental and physical health. If you are wanting a more private one on one healing experience, we offer private sessions custom made just for you and your needs. Or if you would like to enjoy more of the community of yoga, we offer group classes along with Bookings for Private Events.

Now that you know the what, lets talk about the why. I always struggled with confidence due to my skin and looks. I never felt pretty enough. I’ve had problem skin for as long as I can remember. I remember starting yoga because of my desire to get more flexible. Little did I know, I was setting myself up for so much more than that. Yoga taught me a lot about myself and that healing isn’t always the prettiest, it hardly ever is. It also taught me the importance of treating myself and being mindful of what I put on and in my body.

My first product was whipped shea butter. I went to the beauty supply store and got some shea butter one day after I was just overly tired of being ashy just after using commercial brands we shall not name. I got that shea butter, added some oils and I was hooked since. I sold my first ever public batch of whipped shea butter and my very first yoga event.

After years going on this journey of healing and discovery , I wanted to give back, what was given to me. With that desire alone, Dria Love Co. was born.

I was asked, what am I most proud of. Simply put, Me.

How’d you think through whether to sell directly on your own site or through a platform like Amazon, Etsy, Cratejoy, etc.

I use my own site through Wix.

Pros: I have a lot more creative freedom for my site to look exactly how I like it(Brand Identity), People can subscribe to my mailing list. I can have all my products and services on one site

Cons: Its not as much traffic like the bigger platforms (amazon, etsy, etc), Fees to keep my website up and going.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?

I recently had to pivot when my husband and I moved across the country to start a life of our own. I had to totally put my business on hold so that I could adjust to all the newness that came with such a big move. That taught me to give myself grace and that it’s okay to have to pause things for a while.
