We were lucky to catch up with Drew Nieman recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Drew thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
As a small business owner, I’ve built this company from the ground up with hard work, resilience, and a deep sense of pride in every project we complete. My goal is to leave a lasting legacy—one rooted in quality, trust, and community.
We treat our team like family, prioritizing our employees and creating a supportive, growth-driven environment. This family-oriented culture extends to our customers, who can always count on us to deliver honest service and exceptional results.
Founded in the same close-knit community where I was raised, our business is committed to giving back, lifting others up, and proving that small businesses can not only survive but thrive. When you choose us, you’re supporting more than a service—you’re becoming part of something meaningful. We want every customer to feel proud to refer us to friends and family, knowing they’re placing their trust in a company that truly cares.

Drew, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Ever since I was a teenager, I dreamed of owning my own business. My love for cars started early—customizing Matchbox cars, sketching car shop layouts, and imagining a life doing what I loved. I followed that passion into trade school for auto body repair, but life had other plans. At the time, I wasn’t financially or mentally in the place to start a business.
Years passed. I gained experience as an employee in the industry, all the while holding on to the dream. With the unwavering support of my wife, I finally took the leap—and in March of 2017, Full Throttle Auto Spa was born.
Starting with nothing but a vision and a relentless work ethic, I risked everything to pursue this business. I worked late nights—sometimes all night—doing every detail myself to get things off the ground.
What began as a small vehicle detailing operation quickly grew. Today, Full Throttle Auto Spa proudly services not just cars, but boats, RVs, motorcycles, side-by-sides, and most recently—aircraft. Our move into a larger facility at our local airport reflects this exciting expansion into aviation.
We’re more than a detailing shop—we’re a family-run, community-rooted business built on integrity, dedication, and pride in every project. Whether it’s your daily driver or your private plane, we treat every vehicle like it’s our own. We are taking detailing to new heights.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
1. Unmatched Work Ethic
Working late nights—even overnight—demonstrated your commitment and hustle, especially in the early days when you did everything yourself.
2. Consistency & Quality
You likely delivered consistently high-quality results, which earned trust and led to word-of-mouth referrals.
3. Passion-Driven Service
Your lifelong love for cars shows in your attention to detail and pride in every job.
4. Customer Relationships
In a close-knit community, your personable and honest approach likely led to strong customer loyalty and referrals.
5. Adaptability & Growth
Expanding from vehicle detailing into boats, RVs, motorcycles, and aviation shows your ability to grow and innovate—this builds credibility and shows you’re serious.
6. Family & Community Values
Your focus on family and roots in the local community make your business relatable and trustworthy.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
We Don’t Rely on Billboards — We Rely on People
At Full Throttle Auto Spa, we’ve never put our name on a billboard—and honestly, we don’t do much traditional advertising. Instead, we choose to invest our marketing dollars where it matters most: back into our community. We proudly sponsor local youth sports teams and support local charities because we believe in giving back to the place that helped build us.
Our business has grown not because of flashy ads, but because of something far more powerful: word-of-mouth referrals.
We’re incredibly grateful that new customers continue to find us through the recommendations of friends, family, and neighbors. That kind of trust can’t be bought—it’s earned, through consistent quality, honest work, and genuine relationships.
In a world full of noise, we’re proud to let our reputation speak for itself.
