Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Dre Day. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Dre, appreciate you joining us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?

Haha that is actually a funny story. It was something I always had in me. I always wanted to be a ball player of any kind but that didn’t workout and music was always around from freestyling to being a street team guy passing out flyers for artist to songwriting. I’ve played drums since 13 self taught and have always had a strong music passion. I decided to make it a career when I saw so many people as well as my self at the time lacked so much knowledge about the actual business I had to be a voice to educate not only my people but the masses.

Dre, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

Best way to describe me is driven, humble, blessed and hard working. Innovator. How I got into the music industry wasn’t good at all. I was used by family and friends and they scared me but made me not want to see anyone else in that position. I stated a management and consulting company called AD Consulting and Management LLC. We offer a long list of services but education is our main goal. We do everything from getting bookings to setting up your paperwork for beginners. 1 stop shop.

The thing that sets me apart from others my passion my honesty and ability to be a leader if men and woman from all walks of life.

I started a platform called Song4Song Music which I think could change the way up in coming artist are viewed and it has shifted the culture in my own city of Mobile, AL from how people view artist and how they have a different level if respect for themselves and other creators. Just proud that people see what I do and how I do it is pure and authentic.

I really just want people to know that the proof is in the pudding you can follow the journey and see that the platform and things we do as an example that we are not any better than them. I am putting in work daily to make what I do more than just something I benefit from but everything we come in contact with will prosper.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?

Oh! Definitely. Those who think I’m competing and don’t know me or my mission. Seeing other people prosper who may just need a person like me who sees them as a person before a dollar sign with success being at the top of the list for everyone involved. Coming from my city if you don’t act move or be a certain way respect isn’t given to those who just do it in silence so I want to change that narrative. An my family overall I do it for them mainly.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

When I first started as a manager nobody respected what I was doing for my artist only him, I came second. He went to jail and nobody gave me a ear forreal. I created the Song4Song Platform and so much negative came. Major love was showed for sure but hearing people that you looked up to telling people things and spreading false narratives about me and my brand was wild. It always got back to me in some form. I always wanted to just lash out honestly but I have great mentors I always reached out too on hownto handle it. Each day I thought keep your head down and let the work speak. One day I said bro they only mad because I was exposing bad business practice poor leadership and lack of passion only self gain and the platform was booming out the gate first show was crazy. Fast forward they hate is more silent but the respect is felt when I enter a room. I could care less if anyone knows who I am or praise what I’ve been able to build just respect me for being a solid guy man. I want unity across the board especially my people.
