We recently connected with Draza Jansky and have shared our conversation below.
Draza, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?
My parents were college professors and artists, so they modeled a powerful synergy of imagination, intellect, and discipline.
They taught me that anything we choose to create is generated first in our mind. They also emphasized that focus, discipline and consistency is what allows us to bring our creations into the material world.
I grew up understanding that while theoretically anything his possible, the biggest visions require a high level of tenacity, mental power, and focus.
This balance of creative inspiration and practical daily action is the foundation of my coaching practice.
Draza, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m a personal and executive coach specializing in helping clients refine and redesign their own minds. The multi-disciplinary system I’ve developed improves creativity and mental clarity, as well as physical vitality. I help you create an internal shift and a sense of alignment that we then apply to your external goals.
I’ve guided my clients through changing careers, creating and selling companies, attracting soul mates, restoring physical and mental health, and developing the capacity to enjoy life more!
Focused personal consultations, project accountability through text and voice notes, and customized meditations/visualizations are key components of the work. This multi-sensory method streamlines the process of bringing your visions into tangible, workable form.
My path to coaching came from my early careers a as a dancer and a music therapist. After graduating from Northwestern with a degree in Interdisciplinary Arts/ Dance, I began performing, choreographing, and teaching. I noticed the amazing impact the arts had on shifting people’s mindsets, confidence level, and agency. That inspired me to pursue a second degree in Music Therapy while I was still working in the dance world.
I started to work part time as a therapist and coach in hospitals, schools, wellness centers and in private practice. I was so motivated by my clients’ transformations that I eventually transitioned into full time coaching. While most
of my clients come to me for traditional executive and life coaching, I still use movement, music, and energy healing modalities when clients request it.
I’ve been fascinated by the art and science of creating a fulfilling life since I was a child. My entire life’s work has been based on this ongoing practice of discovery!.
If you could go back in time, do you think you would have chosen a different profession or specialty?
No regrets! Coaching allows me to interact in a dynamic way with innovative creators in a variety of disciplines. My clients are involved in technology, film/ entertainment, science, real estate, health, and beyond! I love being a clarifying and motivating force in their lives.
I get to utilize my professional background and degrees in the performing arts and wellness every day. Coaching combines the visionary mindset of an artist with the practical techniques required for mental and physical health. It also provides an opportunity to apply cutting edge research in neuroplasticity and behavioral science to specific, measurable goals.
When I first started out in the coaching and wellness fields thirty years ago, the techniques I use were considered ahead of their time. (To put it nicely.) Thankfully, that perception has completely changed.
Now the types of mind/body techniques I’ve been using throughout my career are universally accepted and respected. The research backing these modalities is common knowledge in 2025. It’s beautiful to live long enough to see that shift in the culture!
Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
The most effective coaches I know are passionate about their work. The excitement of seeing people alchemize challenges into opportunities is something that drives them every day.
I’ve had the opportunity to spend time with some culture-changing thought leaders over the years. I’ve noticed that coaching engages their mind, body and soul in such a way that every experience they have inspires their work..
I’m the same way! I am always thinking about ways to reframe perspective, align the conscious and subconscious mind, and be solution-oriented when navigating challenges. It’s an art form.. It’s the art and science of creating a meaningful life.
As a coach you understand that through any challenge, there is always a way forward. Even if you can’t see it right away, you know it’s there. You do your best to live that principle every day. Then your energy, not just your words, is an inspiration to your clients.
It’s never about bering perfect. It’s about embracing your humanness and being committed to the process of life. Clients respond well to that level of commitment and transparency.
