Alright, Draya thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
I think what it takes to be successful is to never give up. I believe success is different for everyone, and it’s up to ourselves to determine what that success is. But regardless of what we define as success, we must make sure to never give up in reaching it.
Draya, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m Draya Nicole and I am a local Minneapolis content creator. I mainly specialize in beauty and local restaurants. As a small content creator I feel my authenticity is what makes my content special. Everything I choose to share is my honest opinions. I don’t get paid for making any videos from brands, so if I love a product you know I actually love it. As a small content creator there are definitely struggles, but every time a brand post me or someone comments saying they like my content, it’s always something I’m proud of. It’s the little things that matter.
Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
I wish I had realized how many free online courses there are for marketing. As a small content creator I do everything on my own and one of those things is branding and marketing myself and that was something that didn’t come naturally to me especially since I’m not very tech savvy. But watching and taking these course have been very beneficial.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
I’m not sure if I really have a goal or mission, but I hope that everything I’m self teaching will maybe eventually opens doors for being a creative director of some sort. I’m 30 years old, so I don’t think I’ll ever reach a point in being a popular full time content creator, but I think being a creative director would be amazing.
