We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Drake Jimenez a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Drake, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to start by getting your thoughts on what you are seeing as some the biggest trends emerging in your industry
The biggest trend we are seeing in the marketing industry is around how consumers relate to brands. This has changed profoundly in the last 18 months! What people are looking for right now is a lifestyle brand. This is the difference of a company that sells a product/service and a company that sells a better lifestyle. Businesses are learning that in order to win their customers over they have to connect their product/service with a solution to the customer’s vision of their life. This doesn’t mean you have to change your product/service, but it does change how you present it to your target audience, and how you add value after and between purchases. This allows your customers to see your brand as a solution and asset to their life more than just a supplier. Consumers don’t want to be sold, they want to be helped.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Since high school, I have been in love with the idea of psychology and marketing, and how the two collide. Since graduating I have had the opportunity to work in corporate, non-profit, church, and small business marketing. My passion is helping small businesses find their rightful place as the backbone of their local economies and helping business owners bring the vision for their lives to fruition. This experience and passion birthed Holy Hill Media. HHM is a marketing agency I started in 2020. We have grown to 3 locations (Defiance, OH, Wilmington, NC, and Austin, TX). We have served over 150 clients and counting!
Holy Hill Media has also allowed me to branch into business and marketing consulting, I love working directly with owners and marketers to elevate their marketing efforts, and business strategy alike.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
What we have seen to be most fruitful in growing our clientele is leveraging community marketing, LinkedIn prospecting, and a solid referral program.
How do you keep your team’s morale high?
The biggest thing in managing a team and maintaining high morale is to have an extremely defined mission statement, hiring those who align culturally, and consistently giving them opportunities to learn and grow in their role. We ask our team often about the vision for their lives. Some of the most valuable and impactful moments we’ve had internally is when we can insulate where the company’s vision and our team’s personal visions align.
