We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Dr. Vicki Zifteh a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Dr. Vicki, thanks for joining us today. Do you think your parents have had a meaningful impact on you and your journey?
My mother and father have always been each other’s perfect complement in their parenting style. My father instilled in me from a young age that “almost is not good enough,” if you are going to do something, take pride in your work and see it through to the finish, no matter how long or difficult the journey. My mother worked tirelessly to assure that a lack of resources never stood in the way of my goals. She has been my biggest cheerleader through all of life’s ups and downs and never let me lose hope, even when things got tough.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I strive to provide a comprehensive solution to problems related to structural deviations in the spine and nervous system, allowing the body to work at its highest capacity. This is especially important in babies and children because these structural deviations can occur at birth or in the first few months to years of life. The earlier we can correct them, the better for the child’s growth and development. This is why I have spent over 200 hours in pediatric-specific postgraduate-level training.

Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
Most people do not know the benefits of chiropractic care outside of pain relief. Although this is a great benefit, there is much more to it. I have found that engaging my community through workshops and educational sessions helps to provide clarity on the benefits that it can provide.

Have you ever had to pivot?
I started out, and was very invested in, an entirely different career path before I met my first chiropractor. His care changed my health and life in ways I did not realize were possible. From that moment on, I knew that changing careers and providing this care for others would make a huge impact in my community. It was not easy, but I knew it would be the way that I could leave the world a better place than I came into.
