We recently connected with Dr. Tron Malachowski and have shared our conversation below.
Dr. Tron , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today If you had a defining moment that you feel really changed the trajectory of your career, we’d love to hear the story and details.
My mentor was a phenom in the Upper Cervical world. He was known all over the globe for the work his family had done and the 40 years of work they put into the profession.
I was honored to be a part of the journey and be associated with the name. But with that great responsibility came with it a great cost. Like most phenoms today and the past, there is often a very dark side to brilliant minds.
That dark side of theirs brought me to the dark side of mine. Working for them was toxic. It wasn’t fun, and going to work at times became more of a burden then it was a privilege. It became so dark there was a time when I just wanted to run off a bridge.
Four years later, our relationship broke. God said it was time to leave, and that is what I did.
In the process, I had learned to care for some of the sickest cases in the world, and see them get well right in front of my very eyes, under my direct care. It was exhilarating.
In saying that, there was sadness with how our relationship ended. It was explosive, and I wish that we could have parted ways differently. But in that moment I had a choice. That choice was to wallow in despair from a broken relationship and lost mentor, or take what I had learned and begin again to change the world.
I chose the latter.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
30 years ago I broke my back in a freak accident.
In a moment, my entire life changed. I went from a fun loving kid that loved playing ball and spending time with my family, to a child that could barely walk and go to school.
Grades slipped, football ended, family didn’t understand the anguish, and I was a mess. Doctors didn’t know how to help me. Medication only helped for a few minutes.
My aunt worked for a chiropractor. I knew nothing about them. They said they had no idea whether they could help me. But they started to treat my spine. Luckily my injury was stable. They worked around the injury. 3 days per week – for a year, my single mother drove me 45 minutes one way to be treated.
One year later, I stepped back on the football field and never looked back. I knew then I wanted to change peoples’ lives and knew people needed to know what I knew to be true. The fire was lit.
Now, I specialize in a unique form of chiropractic called Upper Cervical. At the base of your brain and very top of your spinal cord, resides the single most important aspect of the human frame. The brain stem.
This 1.5 inch area accounts for 1/2 billion nerves that supply all information to the rest of the body. If this area is disrupted through something that happens in life, it leads to all forms of health issues. We specifically are known for helping people with: migraines, Arnold-Chiari, Meniere’s, MS, vertigo, and many other devastating neurological problems. People from all over the country and the world seek out Upper Cervical care.
Our expectation is world class care. When we accept a patient under care, I expect them to get well. I expect them to change. We also want our experience and visit to our office to be the best part of someone’s day. We understand that people are going through life. But the 10-20 minutes they spend in our office, we want that small chunk of their life to make an impact on them that lasts forever.
That culture has created a family. When you look at our hundreds of reviews, you’ll see that people comment on our team just as much as they comment on the care itself. Sure, results speak for themselves. But so does how you are treated. And that means something to us. We strive to make people smile, laugh, or at least lend an ear to someone that needs to talk with us. We care. And people know it.

Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
After almost 20 years in business, here is what I have found.
Many owners specialize in something very unique. And they hang their hat on their ability to do it. The craftsmanship, the style, the work is incredible. Same here.
But that is only half the equation.
You must learn how to be an entrepreneur. You must learn how to operate and run a successful business. And if you can’t, you have to hire someone and learn from them.
No business sense. No business.
When you evolve into the business person the world needs, your business evolves into what it was meant to be.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I have been told by my mentor I would amount to nothing. I have been heckled while delivering a presentation. I was told to not come back. I have been laughed at for choosing Upper Cervical chiropractic. I have had Doctors not take my call. I have had employees quit because of my attitude. I have had clients leave because they didn’t believe me. Bills have been late. Banks have told me no. I’ve had students argue with me. I’ve had people never come back. I have received 1 star reviews. I have been fired.
In all of the difficult times, I always had to look at my WHY.
Why do I continue to press on after all the S*** I have been through?
Because my why is for my family. My why is for the people that are out there praying for an answer to their health issue that the medical profession cannot provide for them. My why is so strong, that no matter what happens, NOTHING can budge me.
