Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Dr. Tony V. Lewis. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Dr. Tony, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s start with a story that highlights an important way in which your brand diverges from the industry standard.
Christian Bible Institute & Seminary helps to pave the way for graduates to recoup the cost of their education relatively quickly. We have connected more than 1000 students and alumni with jobs and other opportunities to generate revenue. Many of our recent graduates have partnered with us to offer training at their churches through CBIS, some even teach for our school, and we’ve helped some to start their own schools through the CBIS Affiliate Program. We do this because have a vested interest in the success of our students after they graduate from Christian Bible Institute & Seminary.
Tony, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I started Christian Bible Institute & Seminary because I saw that there was a need for current and future ministry leaders to be theologically trained. I wanted to meet that need by starting a school that offered training that would be affordable, accelerated and accredited. There were many who desired to attend bible college or seminary who could not do so because of the cost and the length of time that it can take with some schools to complete a degree program. This can be somewhat problematic for those who don’t have the finances to attend seminary or for those who have families and work full time jobs. With this in mind I wanted to make sure that most of our programs were delivered predominantly online. By doing this, most students can study from the comfort of their own home. Christian Bible Institute & Seminary boasts a long list of notable alumni, such as Marvin Sapp, R.W. Schambach, Todd M. Hall, Kim Burrell, Yolanda Adams, Ted DiBiase. Ronnie Wilson of the Gap Band, The Whispers and many more.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
Social media has been the best source for new clients i.e., prospective students. We do quite a bit of advertising on Facebook and Instagram. We also run ads on goggle. Using social media influencers to advertise and promote your products on their page can be very helpful also, especially if they have a large following.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Word-of-mouth marketing (WOM) is our most powerful strategy for growing our business. It not only piques people’s interest, but it gets people talking. About 62% of consumers search online for reviews and information before purchasing a product. It is the same when it comes to those who are looking for a good school to attend. We always ask current and former students to leave reviews and testimonials on our social media pages. I’ve found this to be very helpful. A positive customer experience is crucial to the success of your business.
