Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Dr. Tiffany Tajiri. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Dr. Tiffany, appreciate you joining us today. Was there a moment in your career that meaningfully altered your trajectory? If so, we’d love to hear the backstory.
I worked for the government for over 12 years–a combination of active duty and civilian service. Government work is comfortable and provides an excellent lifestyle; however, it was not fulfilling my passion for creatively helping people to heal. I love to “think outside the box.” and I have discovered that my creative methods are effective and transformational. After a series of toxic work experiences, I mustered the courage to step out of my comfort zone to pursue my passions and help people to heal through Freedom Rhythm and Rhythm Restoration.

Dr. Tiffany, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

Our Freedom Rhythm mission is to transform the energy of our thoughts and emotions into expressive movement that frees our spirit. Be free. Be you.
What is Freedom Rhythm? Freedom Rhythm is an emotion-focused movement class that transforms toxic emotional energy that is damaging to our physical and psychological being. Moreover, it helps us to amplify and share our positive emotions through connection and creativity as we discover our unique freedom rhythm. The Latin translation of emotion is literally energy in motion. How are you putting your energy into motion?
Why Freedom Rhythm? Your brain generates more electrical impulses in one day than all the cellphones in the world combined. Our thoughts and emotions emit powerful energy. The negative energy of our emotions can be weaponized against us—triggering a cascade of toxic stress hormones that negatively affect every cell in our body—downregulating our genes. In contrast, positive emotional energy can be transformative for us and those around us, as it releases life sustaining neurochemicals. Freedom Rhythm works to transform or expel negative emotional energy, while harnessing and amplifying our positive emotions.
How does Freedom Rhythm work? Freedom Rhythm is the first and only emotion focused movement protocol to engage the whole body, the senses, as well as the entire brain. It capitalizes on the power of the mind through visualization to free us from toxic memories and emotions that have stolen our peace. Freedom Rhythm is informed by the study of neuroscience and uses visualization, bilateral stimulation, and movement to replace our old and unproductive neural networks with healthy and adaptive ones. Moreover, rhythm helps to soothe us. Afterall, we were developed to a rhythm—the beat of our mother’s heart. Freedom Rhythm uses a variety of silks to project our emotion in a beautiful and vibrant way—creating a story that promotes flow and harmony. This sort of novel movement pulls us out of autopilot and promotes mindfulness—the only way to achieve effective and long-lasting emotional freedom. You choose the physical intensity of your Freedom Rhythm—it can be a workout or a gentle meditative state. The first half of the class focuses on visualizations that inform our projective movement, while the second half of the class is geared toward connection and group interaction. The creator of Freedom Rhythm: Dr. Tiffany is a licensed and board-certified clinical psychologist, Air Force Veteran, published author, and former professional ballet dancer. As a trauma expert, she has worked to heal and restore the lives of thousands of combat veterans across the country. Looking to achieve efficient and effective results to heal trauma, she created Rhythm Restoration (trademarked) a protocol centered on specific healing visualizations that uses creative reconceptualization and bilateral stimulation to achieve its results. Created in 2017, Rhythm Restoration has expanded from the military/veteran population to faith-based recovery settings. Inspired by the beauty and movement of the silks, Dr. Tiffany created Freedom Rhythm (copyright) in 2022, which is an extension of Rhythm Restoration. This has allowed Dr. Tiffany to combine her passion and love for neuroscience, imagination, dance, color, and creativity into a cathartic protocol that promotes emotional, spiritual, and physical health.
Who benefits from Freedom Rhythm? Along with our first breath came our first emotion. Freedom Rhythm: E-motion Focused Movement accommodates emotions of all kinds at all ages with movement that is developmentally appropriate.
Is Freedom Rhythm a fitness class? Absolutely! Though non-traditional, Freedom Rhythm classes are all about emotional, spiritual, and physical fitness. You determine the intensity of your movement, and your silks will follow and flow!
Why use SILKS? To us, SILK is an acronym for Serving Intelligence Love and Kindness. The vibrant silk colors represent the spectrum of our emotions. They respond to the smallest movement and are effective in projecting our energy in motion (emotions) in a way that is beautiful and captivating.

If you could go back in time, do you think you would have chosen a different profession or specialty?
My faith is very important to me. With whole lot of prayer and meditation, I have allowed God to direct my path. As a result, I have felt very fulfilled with each career step that I have taken. Trusting while in the unknown takes a lot of courage and faith but it’s all worth it in the end. I am exactly where I’m meant to be and that brings me a tremendous amount of peace.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
In my career and my personal life, I have learned to set healthy boundaries. I do not allow myself to venture into toxic work environments or relationships–this has helped me to keep my sanity. In my early years, I tolerated the toxicity and even internalized it–doing so was extremely unhealthy and not something I will ever repeat.
