We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Dr. Tanvi Tijoriwala a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Dr. Tanvi , appreciate you joining us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
At New Earth Care, our mission is simple yet powerful: to create products with purpose—formulated with ingredients that are backed by science and designed to deliver real results.
As a naturopathic doctor specializing in skin and hair health, I’ve witnessed firsthand the frustration of patients searching for effective beauty solutions. Too often, I encountered products that either failed to deliver results or were made with subpar ingredients at ineffective concentrations.
The beauty industry is filled with products that overpromise and underdeliver. Many brands make bold claims without the science to back them, while others include effective ingredients but fail to use them in the right percentages. Some also claim to be clean but have harmful ingredients in them. The result? Consumers spend their hard-earned money on products that don’t work.
This lack of integrity in product formulation is exactly why I founded New Earth Care. Every product we create is built on three core principles:
1) Science-Backed Clean Ingredients: We ensure that every natural ingredient we use is proven to work, delivering the results we promise.
2) Purpose-Driven Solutions: Our products aren’t just beautiful—they’re problem-solvers. Every formula is designed to address a real need.
3) Eco-Conscious Commitment: What’s good for you should also be good for the planet. Sustainability is woven into everything we do.
At New Earth Care, we’re not just here to sell products. We’re here to redefine integrity in the beauty industry—one purposeful product at a time.
Dr. Tanvi , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m Dr. Tanvi Tijoriwala, an award-winning naturopathic doctor with a clinical focus in holistic skin and hair health. My journey into this field wasn’t just a professional decision—it was deeply personal. From an early age, I developed a fascination with how the body works and the incredible ways it can heal itself when given the right tools. This curiosity eventually led me to naturopathic medicine, where I discovered the power of blending science with natural remedies to address root causes rather than just symptoms.
As someone who struggled to find beauty products that truly worked for my patients, I realized there was a glaring gap in the beauty industry. Many products made lofty claims but lacked science-backed formulations or effective concentrations of ingredients. Others claimed to be clean but were full of harmful ingredients. Frustrated with this lack of integrity, I decided to create a brand that combined my medical expertise with my passion for holistic wellness—and that’s how New Earth Care was born.
As both a naturopathic doctor and brand owner, my mission is to inspire, educate and empower people to take health in their own hands. I want everyone to have access to clean beauty that is both effective and good for the planet. That makes them feel confident in what they are purchasing. That integrity is important to me – I want to create a movement towards a more honest, purposeful, and sustainable approach to self-care.
Beyond my work with New Earth Care, I’m deeply committed to education. I hold webinars, masterclasses, and online content that empower individuals to heal their skin and hair naturally. My mission is to inspire others to use natural medicine to get back to their most confident self.
What I’m most proud of is the trust my clients place in me. Whether they’re purchasing a product or consulting with me directly, they know they’re receiving solutions grounded in science, ethics, and care.
If there’s one thing I’d like potential clients and followers to know, it’s that beauty doesn’t have to come at the expense of your health. At New Earth Care, we strive to redefine what self-care means, blending nature, science, and sustainability to create products that truly work while making the world a little better in the process.
Can you talk to us about manufacturing? How’d you figure it all out? We’d love to hear the story.
When I first started out, I had zero business knowledge. My background as a naturopathic doctor gave me the scientific expertise to understand what makes a product effective, but the world of business and manufacturing was completely foreign to me. I didn’t know where to begin—how to turn my ideas into actual products, how to find the right people to work with, or even the terminology used in the industry.
When I decided to create my first product, I knew exactly what it needed to do and the kind of ingredients I wanted, but I had no clue how to bring it to life. I began by putting myself out there—talking to people, asking “silly” questions, and reaching out to industry professionals who could guide me. Through networking, persistence, and plenty of trial and error, I eventually found a vendor who understood my vision and could manufacture the product to my high standards. It’s safe to say I’ve been completely self-taught through this journey, learning as I went along.
The biggest lessons I’ve learned along the way:
1) Ask all the questions, even if they feel silly. The more you ask, the more you’ll understand, and that knowledge is power.
2) Network relentlessly. People are often willing to help if you just reach out and create genuine connections. Many of the doors I walked through were opened by simply starting a conversation.
3) Be your true self. It’s easy to feel out of place in a new industry, but authenticity always shines through and helps build trust.
If I could go back and give myself advice, it would be to embrace not knowing everything. You don’t have to have all the answers when you start—you just have to have the courage to start and the persistence to keep going.
Today, I’m proud to say that I oversee every step of the process, from formulation to manufacturing. Each product I create is a reflection of my commitment to science-backed solutions, sustainability, and solving real problems for my customers. While I didn’t know how to manufacture products when I began, I learned that with passion, persistence, and a willingness to learn, you can figure out anything.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I once heard on a business podcast that the smartest entrepreneurs hire people who are more skilled and experienced than they are and empower them to grow the business. While this advice works brilliantly for multi-million-dollar corporations, I’ve learned firsthand that for a small business, it can be some of the worst advice you’ll receive—and it’s something I had to unlearn quickly.
When I started my brand, I spent a significant amount of capital hiring a marketing and social media agency. My thought process was, “I’m not good at this, so I need to let the experts handle it.” However, my intuition was sending me red flags at every turn. Each product design, or strategy they created felt completely disconnected from my vision for the brand.
Despite my gut feeling, I ignored it and continued, hoping the results would eventually make sense. But by the end, I had wasted valuable resources on something that didn’t align with my brand’s identity or mission. It was an expensive lesson in the importance of staying true to myself and my vision.
Here are the two biggest takeaways from this experience:
Even when you hire experts, you know your brand’s mission and vision better than anyone else. It’s okay to challenge their work to ensure it aligns with your goals.
Trust your intuition. If something feels off, it probably is. Your gut instinct is a powerful tool—don’t bet against it.
Building a brand requires collaboration, but it also demands that you stay connected to your core values. The smartest entrepreneurs don’t just delegate blindly—they lead with clarity, intuition, and conviction.
