We recently connected with Dr. Sherell Edwards and have shared our conversation below.
Dr. Sherell, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. One of our favorite things to hear about is stories around the nicest thing someone has done for someone else – what’s the nicest thing someone has ever done for you?
On the my last ‘9 to 5’, I remember telling a colleague about a personal project I was working on for business outside of employment. I was recently divorced, a single parent of 3 and earning less than $35000 a year (gr0ss). I was doing the paperwork for the new “project” but did not have the additional finances ($500) needed to pay for training, etc for this new project. Well either later that day or the next day, the person I told about my project came to me with a white envelope with the $500 I needed for training for my new project. I was totally in unbelief….This had never happened to me before. I was able to take the training out of town, submit my paperwork and the rest was history! I left that job 6 months later and have never worked a ‘9 to 5’ since. That was March 2005. That one gift changed my whole life and I have been a 1099 contractor or business owner every since.

Dr. Sherell, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am a Certified Phytotherapist and Health Consultant through All One Life LLC. I’m sure someone is saying what is that? Basically, I partner with others on their road to wellness. As a functional practitioner, I offer assessments and lab testing to help determine the root cause of chronic illness, mainly hypertension and diabetes. I offer these services to individuals who are “tired” and have tried many things to gain overall great health and they are still struggling to meet their goals. The assessment serves as the background report from the client as to their history and current health issues and concerns. The lab testing assesses what is occurring within the body chemically. So we combine the “subjective” view (assessment) and the “objective” view (labs) review those and report what they have indicated, That is our core service and leads to the other services we provide. Our other services include but are not limited to coaching and phytotherapy services. I have created a set of seasonings (diabetics), an unclog artery juice (hypertension), hair oil (alopecia) and memory/focus tincture. These custom services set the business apart from others by offering alternative or contemporary health solutions that carry minimal side effects and most can often be used along with prescription medications (if applicable).
I started with healthcare administration experience going back to 2005 when I left that last ‘9 to 5’ to become a contractor for my State’s healthcare system. However, in that last job, I was a coordinator for a training program that paid for allied health services through the local community college, so I believe all those experiences moved me towards my current healthcare career. I believe each experience built the foundation to my current ability to support and serve others on their journey to great health. However, a personal health bout a few years ago was the final “push” that sealed my commitment to the health industry and my future.
All One Life is a virtual functional healthcare organization that facilitates education through assessments and lab testings. Our contacts with our clients are all virtual, minimizing travel time and expenses. Our clients can order lab work through us and once, we have completed a health assessment and lab testing, they are eligible to receive phytotherapy services upon request. I am most proud of our effectiveness with our clients and the progress they show in short periods of time, We would want any future clients to know that we are intentional about healthcare and welcome clients that are “intent” on making real changes with their health for the better.
Aside from the day-to-day with All One Life, I manage two other limited liability companies: AGC Worldwide & AGC Wholesale LLCs. AGC Worldwide facilitates solutions through notorial and dispute resolution (arbitration & mediation) services offered within the State of FL; AGC Wholesale offers premium wholesale products and services at “winning” prices. In case anyone missed it, I really am a serial entrepreneur!

How do you keep your team’s morale high?
Managing a team is a strategic undertaking. You must have great communication skills and learn how to effectively motivate and best utilize the skills of all the team members. With pay being the top reason, the second reason employees leave companies is employees felt their best skills were not being effectively utilized. So investing time in developing great communication among team members, soliciting their input into projects and placing them in positions where their skills are best utilized are key team management skills.
My companies are operated by several teams of skilled VA’s (virtual assisstants) where these skills and techniques are heavily utilized,

Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?
Sales and marketing are the “life blood” of any company. Knowing how to create and effectively use tools such as Google Ads, social media shorts/videos and analytics help to quickly place businesses into the sphere of the rest of the world. Yet community markets, vendor opportunities and virtual pop-up shops have become quite useful in spreading the word of our services. We are also embarking on more industry collaborations and social partnerships to further our presence.
