We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Dr Sharon Arrindell a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Dr Sharon, appreciate you joining us today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
After many years in the fashion industry, my world was shattered when I lost everything to a hurricane in 1999. As a single mother with two small children, I had to rebuild from the ground up. For a season, I found myself crawling—emotionally, spiritually, and financially—until a dear friend reminded me that as long as I was still alive, God wasn’t finished with me yet.
With renewed faith and determination, I returned to my academic journey after having once dropped out of college. That season of rebuilding became my first great reinvention, and since then, I’ve reinvented myself many times over.
Today, I help Kingdom women who find themselves in uncomfortable or uncertain circumstances to SOAR—Strengthen, Overcome, Align, and Rise—in every area of life: in ministry, in business, and in purpose. My mission is simple: to empower women to rise from the ashes of adversity and step boldly into the life God designed for them.
Dr Sharon, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am a Maxwell Leadership Certified Speaker and Coach, bestselling author, Licensed Christian Marriage & Family Therapist, professor, and pastor. With a life shaped by resilience and restoration, I powerfully inspire audiences to “pick up the pieces and become whole” through my “Redemption Song.” Drawing from the soulful lyrics of Bob Marley’s classic, I embody redemption, healing, and hope, especially for women.
Originally from Jamaica, West Indies, I relocated to the United States in September 1970. I seek to live a life modeled after the powerful inscription written on the wall of my former church in Harlem New York: “Enter to Learn, Go Forth to Serve.” This motto has become my life’s mission.
After a career in the fashion industry, I transitioned into speaking, coaching, education, and counseling. I served in New York’s public schools, working with autistic children, before relocating to Florida with my two young children in 2006. There, I continued my work as a school counselor for over a decade and provided professional development training to educators. Since 2007, I have served as an adjunct professor at several universities and currently teach undergraduate and graduate courses in psychology and counseling at Indian River State College (FL) and Montreat College (NC).
As the CEO of Inspired Wholeness Enterprise, I develop coaching programs for women seeking personal transformation. My digital and live zoom courses serve women, especially Kingdom women gain resilience and empowerment. I am also sometimes asked to offer professional counseling services to married couples.
A globally recognized voice, I am a sought-after speaker utilizing platforms like Christian Women Speakers, Global Women Speakers, and C-Suite for Christ Bureau, with engagements spanning the U.S., Caribbean, Paris, and Spain—always staying true to my unwavering faith.
I have been featured in numerous magazines, including New York Weekly, Preferred Health Magazine and Success Magazine. I have also appeared on local TV, numerous podcasts and media outlets. My inspiring story and work have also graced several magazine covers.
I hold a Bachelor’s in Organizational Management, a Master of Science in Counseling (MSC), and two doctorates: a Doctor of Biblical Counseling (DBC) and a Doctor of Education in Leadership (EdD). I am the author of numerous books, including:
• Simple Ingredients of Prayer
• Armored and Victorious: Memoirs of a Crossover Season (Amazon Bestseller)
• Weapons for Victory: Memoirs of a Perfect Storm
• Christian Divorce Wars
• 31 Days of Wholeness
• Newbies in the Kingdom
• Embracing Our Queenly Anointing (1st & 2nd Editions)
• The Shepherd’s Call
I also contributed to the international bestseller The Fiercely Unstoppable Entrepreneur. I have also developed a collaborative anthology: From Cocoon to Soar: Compilation of Unstoppable Female Leaders, scheduled to launch in December 2025.
I serve on the pastoral board of All Nations Life Development Christian Center in Port St. Lucie, Florida, and describe myself as “a pastor beyond the walls.” I was ordained in 2019 under Federation of Independent Revolutionary Ministries (FIRM), by Apostle Samuel E. Beasley of Pensacola, Florida.
I am joyfully married to my best friend and dream partner, Keith Arrindell, and together we have a blended family of five children and eleven, soon to be twelve grandchildren.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
Although I’ve had to pivot many times in both business and life, one of the most defining moments came in 2021 when I was diagnosed with COVID-19. At first, I believed I could recover from home, but after collapsing on the bathroom floor, I found myself in the hospital fighting for my life. Recovery took nearly three months—and with it came deep reflection, surrender, and revelation.
That experience forced me to retire from my role as a school counselor and step fully into my divine assignment: building Inspired Wholeness Enterprise LLC. The transition was not easy, but it was purposeful. It refined my faith, renewed my strength, and reminded me that God often uses our most difficult detours to direct us into destiny.
Today, I stand as a testament to His grace, helping other women find faith, courage, and clarity as they pivot toward purpose and rise into leadership.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
The driving force behind my creative and entrepreneurial journey is my desire to leave a lasting legacy for my grandchildren. Every day, I work diligently to build a thriving enterprise that reflects excellence, faith, and purpose.
Through Inspired Wholeness Enterprise LLC, my goal is not only to impact lives today, but to ensure that the next generation inherits both the vision and the values needed to sustain it. When the time comes to pass the baton, I want my grandchildren to carry it with wisdom, discipline, and devotion—to win in business, church, and life.
