We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Dr. Scott Miller. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Dr. Scott below.
Alright, Dr. Scott thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We love heartwarming stories – do you have a heartwarming story from your career to share?
Alice, a lovely mature woman seeking facial rejuvenation shared with me the challenges of raising her granddaughter after tragically loosing her daughter to a motor vehicle accident. This had taken a toll on her physically as well as emotionally and had derailed her professional aspirations as well.
Following surgery, Alice was revitalized in spirit as well as her youthful and vibrant appearance. She had a newfound energy and inspiration, sharing her story with the publication of her first book. But best of all, her self-confidence returned and she felt she was more fully present and a better role-model for her granddaughter.
Dr. Scott, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
At Miller Cosmetic Surgery, we seek to Educate and Empower patients to make the best decisions for their goals. I was attracted to Plastic Surgery through my love of form, proportion, and beauty. By using my aesthetic sense and my technical skills, honed by training with legends and serving patients for over 25 years, I help patients safely achieve naturally beautiful results.
My spectacular team and I have developed the Miller Cosmetic Surgery Proven Process, whereby we Visualize & Analyze your concerns, Customize your strategy, and Actualize your goals. But this is all in the quest to help you Realize your potential. Our patients smile brighter, stand taller, and embrace life with more confidence. That’s Authentic Beauty!
Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?
To succeed in Plastic Surgery, you have to have Vision, Skill, and Will: The artistic vision to see the naturally beautiful possibilities, the technical skill to bring that vision to life, and the determined will to safely and meticulously do what is necessary to help the patient achieve the naturally beautiful results they seek.
While this certainly involves using your head, and your hands, it is absolutely essential to bring your heart to the care of and for patents. Without a Passion for Performance and a commitment to quality, integrity, safety, and service, excellence will be elusive.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
When I finished my Fellowship with Dr. Bruce Connell, widely regarded as the leading surgical artist of his time, I returned to La Jolla to practice. I was inundated with questions by my plastic surgical peers as to what I had learned. But rather than query me regarding communication, creativity, and technique,, they all wanted to know the strategic systems of this wildly successful surgeon… The missed the point entirely.
My colleagues were shocked when I told them how patients come for consults, discuss their goals and desires and received individualized assessment and advice, followed by meticulous surgery. “What about a video? Who does the screening? What imaging system does he use? blah, blah, blah
At Miller Cosmetic Surgery, I carry on Dr. Connell’s patient-centered tradition. It is simple but not simplistic.
I evaluate your cosmetic concerns with an informative consultation and personalize a plan to reflect your goals, I then fully commit my training, skills, and experience to help you achieve naturally beautiful results.
This continues to serve my patients and my practice well!
