We were lucky to catch up with Dr Nancy Beliveau recently and have shared our conversation below.

Dr Nancy, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today If you had a defining moment that you feel really changed the trajectory of your career, we’d love to hear the story and details.

I was studying traditional pharmaceutical-based medicine and was getting sicker. I had issues such as fatigue, brain fog, anxiety, bloating, irregular periods, heavy bleeds, and doctors told me that nothing was wrong with me. After being ignored and gaslighted for 10 years, I was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cervical cancer that made me turn to other forms of healing besides traditional medicine. Upon discovering functional medicine, it changed my health and life and I knew it was the way to have true health, not managed sickness

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

We ensure we get to the root of the problem and teach our practice members how to overcome it naturally versus just masking the symptoms with medication. We work globally through Telehealth so have been blessed to help individuals all over the globe to live their best lives versus feel like they’re surviving each day. We believe everyone deserves to THRIVE.

Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?

True connection to the mission and purpose that is greater than yourself.

When I went into this field, it was not well-known. People asked me why I was going to go through all this training to struggle to make a living where I could go through the same amount of training to have job security and a high-income career. I realized that I felt called by my Creator to pay it forward. Functional medicine is now much more widely known and growing in demand tremendously by the day.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?

Transitioning from Pharma-based medicine studies to functional medicine was scary. No one supported me besides my mom. She said, “If you feel God is calling you there, I support you and He will provide a way for you to be successful and happy”. My dad was skeptical, but said, “Being happy is the most important thing…more than money…more than anything”
