We recently connected with Dr. Nakita Davis and have shared our conversation below.
Dr. Nakita, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
Your legacy is something you create Everyday. Everyday that God blesses you to wake up with warm blood flowing through your veins, you have a unique opportunity to leave your footprint in the sand.
Often, I believe, people think of your legacy being achieved when you are no longer here on this earth.
I believe my legacy is how I choose to show up everyday- Boldly, Authentically me, Making an impact in the lives of the people I am called to serve.
Long story short- my legacy is Faith in Action!
I know without a shadow of a doubt, that I am called to ignite the fire in Women to Soar by Faith.
Sure, as an award-winning PR consultant and best-selling author, I inspire.
But the reality behind the glitz and glam of red-carpet events, highly visible billboards, and access granted platforms created- they all lead to FAITH.
When I inspire another Queen to step out of her comfort zone, dream bigger, and take action; I am leaving my imprint with her. She will continue to soar because of the seed planted. It’s up to her to continually water it.
I believe God will give it the increase.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

Beyond the glitz and the glam, I want audiences to DREAM BIG and pursue their passions with everything inside of them.
I often laugh to myself when I think about how all of this started.
It started with me being obedient to the ONE thing God called me to do.
Write a book.
My very first book, Jesus Coffee and Prayer, was a 14 day devotional released in 2018. It was inspired by my relationship with Jesus. It was certainly a proud accomplishment for me.
What i didn’t know, was that God was going to open the flood gates for me through that book.
I never signed up to be a publisher originally. I simply wanted to have an avenue to release future books.
But God.
Once the word got out about my book, other women began to come to me for guidance and help.
Soon, I was publishing best-selling books and collaborative cohorts for other powerful women.
This quickly morphed into aiding women with their marketing and pr approach as I had achieved great success for my own brand and those that I served.
The saying is true, “Your Gift Will Make Room for You!”
Shortly after, I was being asked to speak on global stages with the best of the best, promote big names in business, and closing influencer deals with top brands.
If someone would have told me 5 years ago, that writing my book would position me to become a successful full-time entrepreneur, flying all over the world- crushing stages, working with A-listers for billboards and PR support or being exclusively invited by Forbes to prestigious events, I would have laughed.
But by the Grace of God- Here I AM!
It is my life’s work to position God’s daughters to WIN BIG but only if they believe and are willing to BET on themselves.
Now don’t misunderstand me, the life of a successful entrepreneur is not for the faint at heart.
Hard work, dedication, consistency, believing in yourself even if those closest to you don’t- is what it takes to WIN!
I’ve lost friendships, relationships, business partners, and have been betrayed.
Yet, I count it all JOY!
It’s apart of the journey and the process.
The more that I elevate and bring the right ones with me, I suspect more shifts and changes to come.
But i sleep easy knowing that if God be for me, it doesn’t matter who is against me.
Trusting God and putting in the work has gotten me here and I know it will continue to be the conduit for my future success.
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
Let’s get to the money. Cash flow is the lifeline of your business. #Periodt.
Before i took the leap of faith to become a Full-Time entrepreneur, my job was secretly my angel investor and they didn’t even know it. (LOL)
The income earned from my corporate 9-5 laid the initial foundation for my growing business. Once i saw that i had a proven product/service AKA people were willing to invest in my business, I knew i was on to something.
So when God told me it was time to take the leap (just 8 months into my side hustle) I did.
For me, It was all in or nothing.
I had literally just relocated to Atlanta, GA with my corporate job but NOT for my corporate job.
My husband and I believed that Atlanta, Georgia was our promised land of milk & honey.
So by faith we moved, knowing full well that I would be quitting my 15 year career in leadership and development for a Fortune Top 9 organization.
We did not have 6 months saved up.
We did not have 3 months saved up.
But what we did have was HOPE and crazy Faith that God would provide.
And He Did!
At the time, I was the only one working in Atlanta for our household as my husbands job could not be relocated.
I remember calling my benefits hotline to see what monies i had access to if any at all.
I remember the representative telling me what i had available in my pension. Of course, she stated that I should just leave it. She even went as far as to tell me, how much money would be available if i left it in my account until the tender age of 65.
I was 34 at the time.
With the biggest leap of faith, I used that money to run my business full-time and get started.
I had to BET on me and believe in the Vision God gave me.
What the representative said i could have in 30+ years if i waited, I was able to achieve in 2 years of becoming a full-time entrepreneur.
Now, am i advising you to pull all your money out from your 401K or Pension?
No, I recognize that everyone has to do what’s best for their family and situation.
But for me, this was a real moment of truth. Sink or Swim.
Either I was going to trust God at His word or I was not. Needless to say, I’m so glad that I did.
Studies show that less than 10% of all women earn 6 Figures in their business. A sad study to say the least, considering Women are starting more businesses than ever before.
But Glory to God, with a relentless pursuit, matched with my business acumen acquired for nearly 15 years, I was able to crush that ceiling in less than a year of stepping out on faith and becoming a full time entrepreneur.
The moral of the story here- is HOW BAD DO YOU WANT IT?
Once my business picked up clientele and could show earnings, I began to get loan offers and business credit.
The poor use cash but the wealthy have mastered the art of using other people’s money to become wealthier.
Betting on ME was the best thing I could have ever done and now i reap the fruits of my labor.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
As a business owner, the goal is to make the largest impact while generating repeatable sustainable income. But life happens and that’s a fact!
All i know is the art of pivoting.
Like many businesses, the biggest pivot came in 2020 during the pandemic. The funniest part for me is that I had a whole plan mapped out as to how i would grow and scale my business. This including live in-person events.
Well with the hit of COVID-19, that was not happening.
I had to quickly pivot to virtual opportunities and so i did.
One of my greatest attributes as a business leader is moving with speed and agility. I share this sentiment with my clients often.
Old school would say, “If you study long- you study wrong.”
What that simply means is this: if you wait too long to shift, change, or hop on a golden opportunity, it will miss you.
So instead of sulking on the in-person opportunities, I shifted gears and focused on virtual/digital opportunities to make a global impact and profit.
During a time of duress, stress, and the unknown with COVID-19, I pivoted, tripled my income, and 10x’d my reach and influence.
I was able to connect and partner with people who would otherwise be unreachable. IE A-listers/Celebrity influencers and the like. Instead of restricting my footprint to only the people i could fill into a physical room, I was now able to reach the four corners of the earth through the power of digital outlets and social media.
