Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Dr. Michael Ho, DC. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Dr. Michael Ho, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear stories from your time in school/training/etc.
Life University is one of the best if not the most well known Chiropractic School in the United States. I went into my first quarter of school the Spring of 2015 and finished in exactly 4 years in 2019. I remember going into orientation a week before we started not knowing anyone. I was excited, nervous, and anxious all at the same time. All I could think about was “wow I’m really about to become a Doctor of Chiropractic”. I think one of the most important aspects of succeeding in school is networking and finding your inner circle. It’s important to find quality people who are like minded and will push you to be better. Studying is just one aspect of graduate school but isn’t the entire piece of the pie. Lastly it’s important to not only do your very best on assignments, quizzes, tests etc. But its even more important to start practicing your clinical skills, adjusting technique, social skills, & confidence as early on as you can. My advice is to start visualizing your ‘why’ in this entire process of becoming a healer. It’s the details that matter most when it comes to becoming your best self and future practitioner.
Dr. Michael Ho, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am a first generation “Chiro Kid” which means I’ve been under Chiropractic Care my entire 32 years of life. I used to go to my dads first Chiropractic Practice as a child. It was where I learned to socialize, observe, and learn from an early age about the benefits of chiropractic care, and how it can positively change peoples lives without the use of drugs & necessary surgery. We deal directly with the Central Nervous System and adjust the spine to release the interference going on within the spinal cord, nerves, and joints. This will increase range of motion, improve function, reduce pain, induce a quicker healing process and create a much stronger body from within. I’m most proud of what I do because it’s my true passion. I thoroughly enjoy what I do and love to be able to impact my patients life in a positive way. Chiropractic care is not just treatment but it’s a lifestyle in regards to maintaining proper health and taking responsibility for your own body to the highest level. I’ve always known I wanted to become a Chiropractor, and here we are.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Social Media has completely changed our practice at Chiro4Sports. It’s the consistency that really is the key to growing your clientele. What makes me different is that I actually film, post, and manage all of my personal and business accounts (IG/FB/YouTube/TikTok) The fact that there are thousands of “Marketing Gurus” who over promise and under deliver is insane to me. If you want to up your marketing game, you have to take the bull by the horns and first figure out what works best for you first and your business. Everyone wants a short cut to success. It’s been 13 years of creating content (2010) that has made me the individual I am today when it comes to leveraging my own content and marketing. Set little goals and stick to it. Little steps over the course of years adds tremendous value in whatever it is that you’re trying to achieve. Once you keep the consistency, people will wonder how you got to where you got. Don’t worry about the likes, shares, and attention, all of that will come with hard work!
Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?
I think having the ability to keep your head up high even when things aren’t going your way is so underrated. I’ve implemented gratitude and the Law of Attraction into my life this past year and its changed the way I view things in an entirely different way. You attract what you are, not what you want. When life gets tough its important not to appreciate what you already have. I realized that the more you complain, criticize, the more negative energy would show. When your resilient, patient, hard working, grateful, and positive, life is better. I’m a firm believer in the energy and vibration you put out into the universe will come back ten folds. I’ve failed time and time again in my life and realize that failure isn’t the opposite of success. Failure is part of success. Staying strong during tough times will only benefit you, your career, and your life over the course of time.
