Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Dr Letitia Wright. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Dr Letitia, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today How do you think about vacations as a business owner? Do you take them and if so, how? If you don’t, why not?
I take 3-4 vacations a year. I take at least one day off a week, sometimes 2 days off each week. I take a long weekend each quarter if things are tight. I have come to understand that higher your goals, the more you have to take care of yourself. You can not reach new goals with the same level of self care that you had to get where you are now. Self care does not need to be expensive. You do not have to spend your money on expensive things but you do have to take the time. Time is a flex. Having the time to take off and be with your family when they need you is a flex. Having time to rest when you are not well is a flex. Taking vacations and real time off makes you much more productive in your business.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a Chiropractic Physician who had no mentors for her practice. I tried to get help but I just was not doing well. I started a local cable tv show to interview business owners to really learn what I felt I was missing. That show, The Wright Place TV Show” grew into a revenue generating business and took off. I was able to travel the world and have fun. I got into crowdfunding back in 2010 after watching a friend crowdfund his book. I had helped two sets of friends crowdfund films but I didn’t understand it was crowdfunding. But when I watched this book come together, I understood that business owneres needed to understandabout crowdfunding as a funding tool for business. And that crowdfunding works for small business not just start ups. I practiced on 10 businesses and then I started teaching in the Small Business Administration in Los Angeles.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
The thing that helps me build my reputation in the market is that I have been doing Wright Place TV Since the year 2000 and crowdfunding since 2010. I have been in the game for a while. A lot of people who go for a long time and then see me again say that they respect my hustle. That means they respect that I don’t change professions because there a recession. People can love you, but when you are doing something different every 4 years, they don’t see you a leader in that area. There is something to longevity. I do not recommend sticking with something that is not working. That is not what I mean, but understanding how to weather the low years and keep your business vital is important. It really makes a difference.

How did you build your audience on social media?
I have 151,000 followers on Tiktok and it was built through consistency. Social media is a commitment. Yes, you can automate and have help, but it has to have a touch of you. Your thoughts and ideas. The days of posting quotes is gone. Social media has to be able to get the attention and then give a message to your tribe. My advice would be to pick one or two platforms that your perfect client uses and start building on those. Not the ones YOU like the ones your clients like and use. Learn how they work and use them to your best ability. Grow your following there and over time you will get better. But you must be consistant.
