We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Dr. Lanecha Conner. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Dr. Lanecha below.
Hi Dr. Lanecha , thanks for joining us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
My purpose driven brand was created to empower black women business leaders to achieve unparalleled personal and business growth. By integrating anxiety therapy and business leadership coaching, I aim to cultivate a space where black women can not only enhance their business acumen but, also embrace the true identity of who they are. My brand and everything I do exists to inspire confidence, foster mindset shifts, and nurture a community where growth, authenticity, and success are combined.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Hi, I’m Dr. Lanecha Conner – Business Leadership Coach and Anxiety Therapist! I am the owner of I Dare you to Heal, LLC, a virtual brand providing Business Leadership Coaching and Anxiety Therapy for Black women. I’m a wife, mother of two teens, dog mom, and a crafty creative.
I am on a mission to empower black women leaders to identify their unique strengths and values. I am dedicated to guiding business owners in crafting a personal brand that resonates with their core values, fostering significant online visibility, and business growth. My approach is rooted in nurturing personal development and mindset evolution, ensuring that success is not just a professional milestone but also journey towards authenticity and self-realization. As an aspiring actress, I bring a creative and dynamic perspective to my work, embodying the principles of versatility and continuous self-discovery. I am the host of the Mind(set) your Business podcast and Leadership speaker.
I have a signature coaching program designed to teach black women business owners who are struggling to communicate their service offerings and build deep connections, identify their authentic leadership style so they can feel heard and valued.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
I am currently in a season of pivoting in my business. I have always been known for helping other women believe in themselves and have more confidence in their voice. As, I began working with more black women in business and entertainment, I noticed a recurring theme: black women were not leading their businesses as themselves. These women were leading their businesses for a place of comparison and shrinking who they were. In fact, many of the women didn’t know how to lead any other way. That is when I gained clarity and confirmation to help as many black women in business and entertainment become authentic leaders!
How did you build your audience on social media?
Building an audience, or as I prefer to say “community”, online is a journey and it takes consistency and commitment to show up. The first thing I had to learn is to “just be yourself”. There are so many people waiting on the perfect time or aesthetic to connect with others. People want to build community with the real you not the made up version of you.
My advice, if you are trying to build community online, is to start showing up more, keep being a student, and understand that you don’t have to be perfect!
