Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Dr. Lanecha Conner. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Dr. Conner, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you share a story about the kindest thing someone has done for you and why it mattered so much or was so meaningful to you?
The kindest thing anyone has ever done for me was support and encourage me to believe in myself. My husband Mr. Charles Conner has been the epitome and strong example of what support looks and feels like! I also have a very supportive community online and offline. Shout out to my community, I love y’all!!
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

Have you ever had to pivot?
Ok, I’m going to get vulnerable with you here. I recently had to pivot in my business. I am now a full-time entrepreneur meaning that I work full-time in my practice of providing therapy and coaching services. In 2021 my family and I moved to Atlanta, Georgia from Las Vegas, Nevada- the transition wasn’t the easiest for me. The family made the transition shortly after my husband and I got married. Career wise I was contracting for a mental health agency in Nevada, I was contracting for a group practice in Illinois, and I was operating my own private practice. It was definitely a lot managing contract work with two different mental health companies and also operating my private practice. Moving across country was heavy on our finances especially since we had recently paid in full for a wedding. This, in part, contributed to me contracting in various mental health practices. The other part was my relationship with money working more contract jobs, in my mind, equaled more money. I didn’t grow up around a lot of money so I was always under the impression that I had work, work, work in order to have any. This didn’t leave much time to be with my family or to do the things that made my soul happy. I realized that I valued spending time with the people I love and care about and making an impact in this world. It was at that point, I decided that I would focus on my own business/practice of providing therapy and coaching services.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I’ve had to learn that I can’t rush or Amazon prime success! Success takes time and I understand that now. I used to live a life where I stayed in my comfort zone and I feared failure and, at times, feared success. Now, I operate from a place of taking my time, paying attention to the lessons I need to learn along the way, and putting in the work to be successful, personally and professionally.
