Dr. Kathy, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?

The mission of Fine Educational Solutions is deeply personal and stems from my own experiences as a parent navigating the educational challenges faced by my children. While personal circumstances ignited my resolve to understand and address the complexities of a broken educational system, my extensive education and work with diverse students across the past two decades fuel my passion for supporting young people during pivotal and transitional moments in their young lives.

Further, investing in and completing advanced degrees in Special Education and Educational Psychology has allowed me to bring a layer of theory–educational and educational psychology–that most in my field do not have. My professional journey has been about transferring my knowledge, research, and experience into actionable, research-based support for students and families navigating the increasingly complex college admissions journey.

Our mission at Fine Educational Solutions is clear: to guide students through the college admissions process while empowering them to understand their unique learning styles, embrace their individual journeys, and realize their academic and career potential. Our mission is not just about college admissions but fostering academic success, resilience, grit, and self-awareness in young people. We believe that all students have the potential to succeed, and we are here to help!

Dr. Kathy Griswold Fine founded Fine Educational Solutions, an educational consultancy specializing in college admissions counseling, academic coaching, and holistic career counseling. Although based in Charlotte, N.C., we work with clients all over the United States and abroad. What sets us apart is not just our credentials and experience, but our customized approach to each student’s unique educational journey and our foundational belief in empowering students beyond academic success. By embedding essential organizational and time-management skills into our process, we equip students with skills that transcend the college admissions process and transfer to college and life. For example, our students are taught a research-based writing process that they can use for academic writing in high school and college. Additionally, freshmen, sophomores, and juniors are encouraged to participate in summer reading and writing activities that foster critical thinking about issues and people outside their familiar environments. It is these elements that help students further define their identities and values, and by extension, stand out in authentic and meaningful ways.

We are proud of how our work influences student trajectories and contributes positively to society by fostering educated, socially aware, and motivated individuals. Our goal is that the young people we work with go on to engage with the world as informed, thoughtful, and socially aware citizens who are equipped with the skills to navigate college and contribute positively. Ultimately, our mission is rooted in a commitment to ethical practices, continuous learning, and adapting to the ever-evolving educational landscape, ensuring we offer the most current, data-driven, personal, and impactful guidance possible. A key tenet of our mission is to go beyond college admissions. We nurture the whole individual by providing a supportive and understanding environment where students can truly thrive.

How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?

Our industry is marked by media and social media-induced hysteria, scandal, and self-appointed “experts,” in addition to an alarming lack of regulatory oversight for an industry that serves children and teens. For this reason, Fine Educational Solutions is committed to providing timely, accurate, and data-driven information to clients and readers. By striving to be an expert industry leader, we hope to attract clients and foster brand loyalty with who value education, experience, integrity, and commitment to excellence.

Maintaining consistent and meaningful communication in the form of blogs, emails, customized reports, and newsletters is not simply a marketing and branding practice but one of Fine Educational Solutions’ core pillars.
