Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Dr Josias Jean-Pierre. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Dr Josias, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
I truly believe what it takes to be successful is to have self belief despite of how things look and making sure that the words that we are speaking over our lives are positive affirmations and not negative affirmations. I was diagnosed with epilepsy as a child and because of that, I was in special education and was in the I.E.P (Individualized education Plan) program. I always had this dream that I will become a powerful prolific person who will make impact nationally and internationally. And that I will be a motivational speaker and an author. Many educators and students have told me to stop believing that because I stuttered lot, couldn’t annunciate my words, took long time for me to grasp information that others grasp very quick. I was also in speech class. I was this individual who was overlooked because of the setbacks that I was facing at the time.
At the age of 13, I was having these dreams of me speaking and writing books and having massive impact nationally and internationally. When folks asked me what am I going to be when I get older, I have always said I am going to be an author and motivational speaker. I am going to be the voice for my generation. Everyone from peers to educators laughed at what I said and made fun of the disability. There were constant statements like, “Josias, stop believing that look at you just look at you.” I chose to believe the dream that I was seeing at the age of 13. I always say if you can see it before you see it, you will then see it. I had deep conviction that I was going to be this powerful voice despite of the obstacles and nobody couldn’t tell me anything different.
Four years later, at the age of 17, I started booming in the speaking arena. While I was in high school, I was one of 4 students of the highline public school district to go speak at this big national conference called ASHA ( American School Health Association) in Kanas City, MO. I was speaking in front of Doctors, Lawyers, Educators and more around disparities in education and the educational gap that we have presently that is being overlooked and not being addressed. From there, I then was asked to be the Keynote speaker for the 20th year anniversary for City of SeaTac city hall. Opportunities that I didn’t look for but landed right in my door step and the very obstacles that I was facing has started becoming a powerful voice of change. A voice that speaks with conviction, and passion. Where audiences don’t just hear the voice but they feel the energy that grasp the attention of everyone in the audience.

The way I developed my view is because I am a man of Faith and I just believe that God does not do mistakes and he can turn things around for the good. The bible says, Speak those things as if they are and I spoke it as if I was already there. I also believe that test of life can turn into testimonies and mess of life turn into powerful messages. Since God is not a God of mistakes, I chose to believe that I am here on purpose, for a purpose, and with a purpose and greater is he that lives within me than he that is in the world. My view developed because my life plan is not in my hands but it’s in the hands of my lord and savior Jesus Christ.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I was born in the Caribbean in the island of Haiti and grew up in SeaTac, WA. I got into my industry through a vision that I captured where I saw myself impacting lives in the national and international level. I help people to change their words so they can change their world. It’s not about what happens but it’s about how do you respond to what happens. Life will always be doing what life does, but only you can control how you respond to what life does. What sets me apart from others is that I am focus on reaching one and transforming one. Reach one, teach one, each one, reach one. that is my focus and mission to impact one so they can have the tools they need so they can impact another one. What I am most proud of is hearing testimonials of lives being transformed with the tools that I give the audience and my clients and hearing how they are stepping into their flourishing season because I came authentic, real, transparent but also full of love and passion.
I want you to know that when you hire me to speak at your event, business, youth, you’re not a getting a feeling good speaker, you’re getting a speaker who speaks with passion and deep conviction that will transform the audience to have an action plan of go.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I think what helped me build my reputation in the market was the books that i have written that took off in a short period amount of time and also word of mouth.
Do you sell on your site, or do you use a platform like Amazon, Etsy, Cratejoy, etc?
I sell directly through my site even though my books are on third party platforms like Amazon but I don’t direct anyone to go to Amazon and buy my book and here’s why; For every book purchase that I get notified of, I like to sign it and make it personal to the individual so when they get the book via mail, they get a signed copy and a heart felt thank you. I like to personalize every book because they didn’t have to support but they chose to support and because of that, I prefer all sales through my site where I deliver the book myself.
