We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Dr. John Ughulu a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Dr. John, appreciate you joining us today. We’ve love to hear an interesting investment story – what was one of the best or worst investments you’ve made? (Note, these responses are only intended as entertainment and shouldn’t be construed as investment advice)

My dad passed on when I was in high school and shortly after his demise, I got into the university and made wrong choices that made me drop out of college. Those wrong choices also lead to limiting beliefs such as shame, shyness and frustration. I battled with these limiting beliefs for over a decade until I took a personal decision to take charge of my life through investment in personal development.

Investment in personal development has been my best investment and it changed my life from a college dropout to a PhD, from shyness to public speaking, from an immigrant to a University founder, from a man without purpose to an author of several books.

I am using my story to let others know that if I could overcome these limiting beliefs, it means that they too can do it.

My goal is to help one billion or more people discover their purpose in life on or before 31-Dec-2041.

Dr. John Ughulu is an Atlanta-based Best-selling Author, Public Speaker, and Strategist.

He is the Co-Founder/President of Cornerstone Christian University CCU, John Ughulu Foundation, and Mainseed Research Group. He is also the Host of The Morale Booster Podcast.

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?

When I made up my mind to embark on the personal development journey, the first book I read was “The 7 habits of highly effective people by Stephen Covey and it changed my life.

Even though my mom taught me how to set goals, the book taught me in-depth how to categorize and set goals and how to establish a work-life balance.

Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
