We recently connected with Dr. John Layke and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Dr. John, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
My business partner (Dr. Danielpour) and I had the realization that if we are treating our patients and performing surgeries, including face and neck lifts, that we also have to treat their skin. It was this realization that led to our taking the risk of launching a skincare line – Beverly Hills MD (BHMD). As successful plastic surgeons, we wanted to make sure that our products would help not only our patients, but others that were looking to achieve dramatic results at home, and we knew that our reputations were at stake. Add in an economic recession at the time of our brand launch and our risk was significantly increased.
Dr. John, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name Dr. John Layke and I am a board-certified plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills. I am the co-founder of the Beverly Hills Plastic Surgery Group, with my partner Dr. Payman Danielpour where I specialize in rhinoplasty, eyelid surgery, and facelift procedures using cutting-edge technology that can help achieve the best possible results for my patients. Dr. Danielpour and I also co-founded Beverly Hills MD, an innovative skin care line that blends dermal technology and natural skin care ingredients and we co-host the “Forever Young” podcast.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
I believe that listening to your patients and being honest with them is the most effective way to grow your clientele. Happy patients are essential to growing a medical practice. We want our patients to feel confident with themselves, as well as feeling confident with my skills as a surgeon. I believe that being truthful with my clients on what results can be achieved and what will look best for them, will result in their future happiness which will result in future recommendations. These referrals help grow our practice and build our clientele. If my clients are happy with their results, they will tell their friends and colleagues.

I grew up in a loving family, but we did not have a lot financially. Although this sounds cliché, I knew that with hard work and motivation that I could expand my world and find success, both financially and spiritually by furthering my education.
