Dr. Jared, appreciate you joining us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?

My mission and why I started Hallowed Truth LLC is to provide a different awareness concerning addiction, suicide, and mental health. I began my journey to fight addiction when my best friend lost his life to addiction. His heart stopped twice, which once was in my arms. My journey concerning suicide began when my cousin took her life. Even though I tried to reach her, I was not able to stop her from taking her life. Losing my best friend and cousin to addiction and suicide has haunted me. My goal is to provide a different approach to addiction, suicide, and mental health and show what happens when the person is already gone. I have conducted my first documentary I am pitching now called, “The Aftermath of Addiction.” Changing one’s life before he or she turns down to a path of addiction or suicide is my goal.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I ventured into college to obtain my Ph.D. in forensic psychology so I could better understand behavior and mindsets. I went the direction of forensic psychology because of my interest in serial killers, which is why I wrote my dissertation correlating sexual fantasies with violent and homicidal ideation. My thought was to utilize my degree to conduct interviews showing the pain that is left behind once a person takes his or her life by addiction, or suicide. I use a Vegvisir as the symbol of my company. This symbol is intended to prevent a person from losing their way. I thought this symbol was appropriate for what Hallowed Truth stand for.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?

I wish I better understood the secret to social media. I have an Instagram (@hallowed_truth) and a Facebook (@hallowedtruth) and working to build an audience. The advice I was given was to post videos and photos multiple times daily. With that said, I am working to build my audience.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?

What helped build my reputation with those I have connected with is that I am honest and do not blow smoke. I say what I mean and I do what I say, without fail. Honesty is the key to success in any aspect of life.
